QUOTE(uNeVErwaLkaloNe @ Jul 31 2009, 12:30 PM) [url=http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/malaysia/33843-as-1-malaysia-fund-available-from-aug-5] You got a point here actually, 1.6 Billion of ASM-bumi quota remains unsold from April 09 to 20 July 09, and being released to non-bumi 21 July 09. Now out of the new RM10bil fund, RM5bil is reserved for Bumi. If 1.6Bil even cannot be taken up by bumi group, i dont think the AS1M will be fully taken up by bumi group also.biggest fund? something is really wrong here... 1) it dont make sense to put a quota when they know the bumi quota will never be full 2) 1Malaysia with quota? what the difference with NEP, all this is for show only 3) bigger fund than other more stable fund?...eg. ASB, ASN 4) benchmarked with 4%? this is ridiculous, even sukuk give more return Benchmark of 4% is too low, shd at least benchmark against sukuk's 5% For those who interested to know the top 3 fund size of PNB products: Actually AS1M will not be the biggest fund size of PNB products, ASB is the biggest fund so far with RM62bil fund in circulation (as per its annual report ended 31/12/08), even ASW has the approved fund size of RM14 billion already. I think the response, especially from Chinese group, won't be "extremely overwhelming" this time around. Reason being it is not transparent enough. Nevertheless, I will still buy some, but I won't join the crowd on the first day. There's no point to waste time and energy queuing up early morning if the return is around 4% as predicted.

I can sense a sarcastic remark.
The concept of "1Malaysia" vanishes with the quota system. I'm also disappointed that this fund doesn't allow withdrawal from EPF. |

You need to open another account for as1m. you're entitle as long as you are 18 years old & above. I did saw some student 16 years old opened asm account last time, so your case is perfectly NO PROBLEM. |

QUOTE(winner @ Jul 31 2009, 05:19 PM) I can sense a sarcastic remark. Fund from EPF not enuf to fund 'stimulus pkg' ...so have to mop up more liquidity from the system via new fund, bond,tThe concept of "1Malaysia" vanishes with the quota system. I'm also disappointed that this fund doesn't allow withdrawal from EPF. allow to take from EPF , then not achieve objective...jus take right pocket, put in left pocket |
