Do bear in mind that 0.6% was reported yesterday. The rate will be getting smaller till 0% when approaching the expiry date on July 20.

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has made a series of announcements in conjunction with his 100th day as Prime Minister.

Among the announcements are the six key areas that his administration will focus on, a 20% discount for road users paying toll more than 80 times per month and a RM10bil Amanah Saham 1Malaysia trust fund open to all aged 18 years and above.

The areas are crime prevention, combating corruption and improving access to quality education, people's quality of life, rural infrastructure and upgrading public transportation.

Najib also announced that road users who pay 80 times of toll a month would get a discount of 20% starting Sept 1.

He said the Government would also launch a 10bil units of Amanah Saham 1Malaysia trust fund. Those above 18 years of age are entitled to apply.

Other announcements were that those renting public housing would get the option to buy the houses, with a total of 44,000 units on offer.

Petty traders in the Federal Territories will also get a 50% discount on the renewal of their licences.

Najib made the announcement during a "100 days with the people" gathering at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here today.

No, the holder must have had a will done up prior to being deceased. Then the person named in the will will be able to get hold of the money. Many people have had problems because of this !

another article on Amanah Saham 1Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- The government has agreed to Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) establishing a new unit trust fund, Amanah Saham 1Malaysia, with a size of 10 billion units.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak who made the announcement said the new fund would be launched soon and is open to all Malaysians above 18.

"The fund is in line with the government's aim of encouraging the people to invest," Najib said in his speech at a gathering on the occasion of his 100th day in office at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) here on Saturday.

"The establishment of this new fund now is timely, in view of the expected recovery of the economy, in the second half of this year," he said.

The fund, he explained, is expected to provide an investment opportunity to investors to enjoy reasonable returns over the long term.

According to Najib, in an effort to ensure an even distribution of wealth, especially for the hardcore poor in the urban areas, the government has allocated RM100 million for the Skim Amanah Saham Wawasan.

"It is aimed at reducing the burden for them, especially at the end of the year, in meeting the needs of the school going children," said Najib.

In 2010, he said a total of 10,000 hard core poor households, would be given 10,000 units under the E-Kasih list.

Najib also announced a 20 percent discount for those who use toll roads more than 80 times a month.

The discount is effective September 1.

"The government recognises that the payment of toll is a burden for users under the current economic situation," he said.

im still unable to find more info on the launch date and whether it is fixed price...

Without a will, they will still release, but based on Muslim laws if the deceased was a Muslim. It's called Faraid.

Lawyer1, if based on Faraid it means that priority will be given to eldest son rite?
