My friends iphone got stolen this morning, and ofcos the phone has been turned off. Is there anything else to track the phone except the find my iphone apps? Anything else I can do ?

wrong section, anyway, if find my iphone is turned on, you can track it in icloud, if the person who stole tried to wipe the phone, it will be permanently locked (activation lock)

The thief already remove my friends iphone from her icloud. I don't know how , but now I think there is nothing can be done.
