Recently finished on Kitech 1/72 MiG-25P Foxbat-A
A bad kit, nonetheless, but at least I could learn on how to do filler (which I still sucks at sweat.gif)

assembly jet cost + paint + time = diecast.
assembly kit more weight, fragile & dint come with stand.

after consider this issue, i better get a diecast.

Anyway always welcome to post on this thread whatever diecast or model kit. icon_rolleyes.gif
But sure diecast actually did have some advantage. hmm.gif

GAINCORP sure have some good product and russian jet.
But hard found at local, even TaoBao was less on this brand. sad.gif
And some TaoBao seller cheating on it, make it high price, can't accept it.

What I think is the aircraft itself not detailing enough yet. Can see some of the part look "fake"... hmm.gif
May be because Chinese militia & gov control their "classified" aircraft for the model production.
Or... still in research aircraft not yet the actual aircraft yet, so the model also can't do detail.
What I suggest is wait for little longer until the real actual aircraft release then the model will be update.

NOpe, just for share. even for  the J20, i dont add him to my list.
Very limited space, i buy the most i like only.  smile.gif
russia aircraft r dam crazy huge, consume alot space.  sad.gif

gonna get su 27, 30, 34. & easy model F16 only.  brows.gif
*
Ya, Russian Jet. thumbup.gif
I still find Su-35 or Su-37, if really hard found may be will add Su-34.
Actually also like to add T-50 PAK FA, but seen AF1 product the aircraft little bit fail. sweat.gif
So wait for other brand production and also F-35B. brows.gif

BTW if want to add chinese aircraft in actual not prototype may be can add J-10.
Even EM also did product it, and sure is chinese first self research aircraft that nobody complain. smile.gif

j10=f16?
j31=f22?

hmm.gif

What most news media said is
J-31 = F-22 + F-35 (copy kao kao)
J-20 = F-22 + MIG Project 1.44
J-10 = EF-2000 + F-16

hmm.gif
Only J-10 didn't get complain shoot, the others 2 was copy tech.
Anyway hope chinese don't always copy,
do something that would proud and acceptable by other countries.

Hi sifus,

Me and a bunch of friends is thinking of buying an aircraft model kit for another friend who loves aircrafts for his birthday.

This is going to be his first model kits. We are quite certain he is too lazy to be bothered about painting.

So the question is, anyone have any good recommendation on model kits that doesn't require painting?

Looking at F-22 or F-18.
*
hmm.gif
Juz my suggestion, if don't want to do painting job better buy die-cast model,
Pre-painted model kit is very hard to find.
Pre-painted model kit example F-toys & TomyTec Gimix was 1/144 scale.
user posted image

If going to buy model that didn't need painting and assembly only die-cast will do,
can refer back our sifus' collection. And better buy 1/72 scale main stream for beginner.
Hobby Master got a lot of F-22 and F-18, Witty Wings also another nice one.

And yes also can wait more sifus suggestion. Good Luck then. icon_rolleyes.gif

*Edit:
BTW, forgot to ask, when his birthday coming?

Hi guys, want to ask for opinion about this one worth it or not?
I found this from local seller, Altaya Su-35 1/72 scale metal diecast,
for RM190. Can see the picture most of the parts can't adjust,
juz a display metal model. So in this price worth it? hmm.gif

i think rm190 for a diecast su-35 is reasonable but i gotto caveat, i have not seen altaya's detailing and finish. perhaps comrade deathsoul can provide insights since he's the point of reference for all things russian...
*
Ya, that why I ask here for opinion before I really plan for buy after that I afraid for regret.
This brand Altaya really was hard found, even at TaoBao (aircraft model).
But seen this also a magazine collection model actually only available at France.
So the detailing can't ask for more, but don't know what is the really price sell on France. sad.gif

hmm.gif strikermac... you only need two considerations, really:

1. you like
2. within your budget

but hopefully some other forummers have experience with altaya to share with you also...

if me i will buy to check how altaya's detailing and finish is. it's not necessarily a conclusive reflection of how they are as a brand, especially if their qc is erratic, and sometimes, it depends on which model/production. like fov for example... the f14s are duds, but the f18s are quite good actually. and besides gaincorp... there aren't any worthy russian diecasts out there, imho.

Thanks Comrade WingNut.
I will collect my angpow first before buy. tongue.gif

Ya, detail photo so can see the disadvantage very clear.
Example cockpit can't open, no pilot, all wings are flat can't adjust.
Anyway, still planing for it but sure after CNY.
