how much does a full ready-to-fly set cost? i noticed from your earlier postings that the hobby shop sells the sets with certain items "not included". and also, which would be the recommended bird for newbies? much as i like the modern day jets, it's the props that seem more suited for newbies, no?

it's probably a hybrid... canards from the eurofighter, single engine and rear stabiliser from f16. but overall design... i feel more f16 than typhoon because of the single engine configuration.

Juz my suggestion, if don't want to do painting job better buy die-cast model,
Pre-painted model kit is very hard to find.
Pre-painted model kit example F-toys & TomyTec Gimix was 1/144 scale.
user posted image

If going to buy model that didn't need painting and assembly only die-cast will do,
can refer back our sifus' collection. And better buy 1/72 scale main stream for beginner.
Hobby Master got a lot of F-22 and F-18, Witty Wings also another nice one.

And yes also can wait more sifus suggestion. Good Luck then. icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW, forgot to ask, when his birthday coming?

Hi guys, want to ask for opinion about this one worth it or not?
I found this from local seller, Altaya Su-35 1/72 scale metal diecast,
for RM190. Can see the picture most of the parts can't adjust,
juz a display metal model. So in this price worth it?  hmm.gif

i think rm190 for a diecast su-35 is reasonable but i gotto caveat, i have not seen altaya's detailing and finish. perhaps comrade deathsoul can provide insights since he's the point of reference for all things russian...

hmm.gif strikermac... you only need two considerations, really:

1. you like
2. within your budget

but hopefully some other forummers have experience with altaya to share with you also...

if me i will buy to check how altaya's detailing and finish is. it's not necessarily a conclusive reflection of how they are as a brand, especially if their qc is erratic, and sometimes, it depends on which model/production. like fov for example... the f14s are duds, but the f18s are quite good actually. and besides gaincorp... there aren't any worthy russian diecasts out there, imho.

Thanks Comrade WingNut.
I will collect my angpow first before buy. tongue.gif

oh no! just did some background check, comrade. this altaya is kinda like our fighter aircraft collection by allscript and was retailing at €13.99 (about rm60). that will probably give you an indication whether the rm190 is justified sweat.gif

they do have some pretty nice looking models in there, though. the ones you're interested in are issues #10 and #62. i kinda like issue #66!

altaya jet some can consider since not many other manufacturer doing the model. but be inform that altaya jet mostly plastic with very minimal diecast metal. it much better than amercom jet and its in 1/72 scale.. the landing gear can be taken out to display in flight mode tho.
