yeah... the civvie scene is certainly heating up with the introduction of jcw's new 747 mould. starting with the sia tropical... followed with this mas hibiscus. there's also jal's disneysea and qantas' wunala dreaming coming out. not to be outdone, inflight200 is also coming out with a host of interesting liveries including the thai royal barge, the usaf doomsday... and the re-release of the iconic air force one. it's really an interesting year for civvie collection

on the military air power front, i must say i'm getting a little bored of what's being released. i like the striking colours of the aete... but that's about it. the new tooling vigilante, prowler, viking and hawkeye kinda looks bleh to me. it's a personal preference though. and hm releasing two f15c??? come on hm... it's time to add on some colours on those eagles. it's time for some aggressor or jasdf anniversary schemes instead of the 50 shades of grey!

air force one has come out with some pretty interesting designs... the su35 being one of their better releases imho (disregarding the mismatched colour or erroneous bort numbers). but they've got some serious issues with scaling on their plaaf birds (no, not the molars... but of being 72 scale accurate). and terebo has suddenly gone all quiet. these two has come out as serious contenders for rusky jets upon the demise of witty. altaya? i haven't got my hands on any just yet so i'll reserve my comments. and gaincorp seems to have that limited run of models... nothing more. perhaps the scene is already too crowded but i'm keeping my fingers crossed that hm joins the fray... and in a big way (like the su30mkm!). anyway, the rmaf tiger 2 scheme would be an interesting addition...

okay guys, here are some pics of the air commander f-4f phantom II luftwaffe jg 71 richthofen. 'njoy!

it's my first air commander... and my first phantom so not sure how to make the comparison. all the missiles fit pretty snugly... so no complaints there. i've got some issues with putting the rio in his seat properly and not sure whether that caused the canopy not being able to shut snugly now but overall a nice model for what it is. i like the fact that there's a groove in the central drop tank that allows you to display the bird with its tanks, unlike hm's stands. it's hard to compare phantoms with tomcats... so i'm not sure where you're going on this air commander vs century wings is. i do not have a hm phantom so again, i cannot make a comparison.
