Hi all,
I'm planning to visit Japan from 24/06/2015 - 06/07/2015 inclusive.
We are thinking to do as below and would appreciate all the guidance all of you could provide us

24/06 - Arrive Tokyo Narita > Go to Kyoto

25/06 - Kyoto

26/06 - Kyoto

27/06 - Kyoto > Osaka > Back to Kyoto

28/06 - Kyto > Kobe > Back to Kyoto

29/06 - Kyoto > Hakone ( Assume the 2 days free Hakone pass will suffice? bad timing ropeway is closed due to earthquake.

30/06 - Hakone

01/07 - Hakone > Tokyo( Disneyland )

02/07 - Tokyo - Is it worth going Disney sea?

03/07 - Shinjuku Will wonder around Tokyo
04/07 - Shinjuku
05/07 - Shinjuku
06/07 - Shinjuku (Flight is at 1050pm)

Yes, I'm sure heaps of similiar questions has been asked before the thread is so popular and long !
I'm grateful if anyone could entertain my questions. sweat.gif

Am cracking head on which type/pass of transportation to use to get around these places - JR 7 days pass?

Would like to experience shinkansen at least.

Also thinking of air bnb ( any suggestions much appreciated ) VS. hotels .

So far hotel seems to be same price or cheaper than air bnb ( air bnb provides wifis ).

We love food - so any cafes or restaurants recommendation are welcome!!

If anyone can share share their similiar itinerary would be aweosome!

*where is the best place for night view of skyline?

Thanks all! notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Wah, Your plan so much criss crossing  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

I prefer Airbnb more than hotels as it's cheaper and i love the "Home" feeling. Feels really authentic to live in a working class neighborhood than to stay at a posh place in the middle of downtown

Btw, Dont rely on the MIFI devices that some airbnb host give out, much better off renting one yourself as some of those given have poor receptions and short battery life

I only spent about RM 125 on average for my accommodating in tokyo/osaka per night by using Airbnb exclusively
AFAIK, Suica cant be reloaded using CC unless your using mobile suica or view suica

-- he he.... open to changes.. rough plan is something like that... so wanna ask you all how to utilize it best. hmm
we will just be using iphones- can that work? is free wifi widely or?

For me, disneysea is better for adults than disneyland (the other way around for kids). Whether you wanna spend two days and visit two parks depends on how big of a theme park fan you are lo.

hakone is all about onsen and glimpse of fuji mountain.

if you are not into onsen and not into fuji mountain, better do not go there at all.

Planning to go Hakone and Fuji for 3 days
We would like to hike Mount Fuji since July is the season to climb and rest/explore Hakone next day.

Would like to know if anything to happen to the Hakone mountain /earthquake , will Mount Fuji be affected ?
A bit disappointed rope way is already closed but would like to experience onset and ryokan there

Travel from Tokyo and thinking to join tour for the Fuji hike and catch the sunrise

Sorry if it sounds dumb.
Much appreciated

mt hakone is a bit far from fuji.
if you are hiking via different route than going through hakone, i dont see how it will be affected.

of course there are also possibilities if there will be earthquake/volcano in hakone, it might trigger a some volcanic activity in fuji incase their magma chambers are connected. just follow your tour guide, they will not want you to risk your life as much as theirs.

THanks for input.

Not sure if we should book ryokan at Hakone.

Has anyone done the Fuji climb ?

Website says to take romance car from Shinjuku to Hakone yumoto.

Does it make any difference if take from Hakone to Shinjuku instead ?

Planning to get the 3 days Fuji Hakone pass for 7400
And depart from Shinjuku .
From Shinjuku plan to go climb Mount Fuji then Hakone then back to Shinjuku .

Has anyone used this Fuji Hakone ?
Bit confusing about what it covers.

Would be greate if it covers from Hakone yumoto to my Fuji 5th station and hike from there straight.

i hv
no different, can do it both way

the oni different... u must take bus shinjuku from/to fuji

my 2cents.. book it 1day b4 u depart, coz the bus is always full
and since the bus is always full, u might not able to take the earliest bus

in order to maximize the full 3days pass...
shijuku-hakone-gotemba-kawaguciko-shinjuku route is prefer
*
thanks for this bro notworthy.gif

hmmm..at first we thought of shinjuku > romancecar> hakone yumoto > then I have no idea how sweat.gif >
5th fuji station ( yes there are a few hiking start point rclxub.gif ) > stay one night on mountain > descent> relax and enjoy ryokan at hakone > explore hakone > shinjuku..

would much prefer to relax after the climb......

We're 2 girls planning to hike my Fuji .
From Shinjuku take bus to Fuji Subaru 5th station. And take yoshida trail.
How many of you would recommend to sleep at the mountain huts for about 8000yen with 2 meals per pax ?
Or just direct ?all the way to top and descent for sunrise ?

Also I've just realised they charge hotel per pax per room. You think we can get away by booking 1 person but double or king bed . It is double price even though still one room. Without meals of course ........

I did it without sleeping, and it was terrible.

If you don't rest at the mountain huts, you'll be cold and walking fast to stay warm. By doing so, you give your body less time to acclimatise to the high altitude. Do remember that Fuji is nearly 3800 m, almost as high as Kinabalu.

Altitude sickness is a real danger, so spend the extra money to rest in a mountain hut, and MAKE SURE YOU BRING DIAMOX.

And dont even consider booking 1 person room for 2 people.

Thanks a lot of the guidance !
Definitely need to get a hit then .
Thanks for the DIamox reminder too
