yup
fyi last time if not mistaken there is inauguration promo...
for launching KL <-> Narita
RM1400 total price
ya very good promo, i bought AA RM16xx  doh.gif
not including meal and baggages
*
Yea last time inauguration promo RM1480 all in. But even now at RM1780, you get 2 checked in luggage, and get to take on a B787, with ANA services, it's a good call.

I see what MAS and JAL will do then. JAL lowered their normal price to RM1900-2100. MAS normal price still around RM2300-2500 (PRomo RM1300 or RM1700).

Well cannot say no chance. I dont have perfect Japanese not even JLPT Level 1. My staff speak to me in English and when I go out to meet customers, I have them do translation for me.

I know a lot of foreigners here who cannot really speak good Japanese but have niche skills. I even know headhunter who cannot even speak Japanese but he looks after niche markets. Some companies like Rakuten have position that does no need Japanese. You can go to their homepage and look at the jobs available and some does not required Japanese. I know a few people working there as well who speaks very minimal Japanese. Finally get your company to transfer you to Japan.

So there is opportunity but of course not as much if you know Japanese.
*
Oh really? But then as you work and live there, normal daily simple conversation should have been easy for now.

But then I really wonder how is it, I mean the life of working there.

Normal conversation is fine now...no issue. Just that business Japanese is totally different. Working life totally different from tourist or student. People are much more competitive here, and sometimes its really to break through the walls. At least I managed to change some of the culture where all my staff have already left the office and I am here replying to you!
*
I heard of the competitiveness, sometimes just a thought of it and I definitely will label them lifeless. "Otsukaresama-deshita" and then drunk at road side lol.

Well to me it's good that you managed to made some sense into them, have a life lol.

My family of 5 are visiting Tokyo this June for the 1st time.
Spending 5 days 4 nights and was wondering if we are to use Yamanote Line to explore , its sufficient enough to keep us busy. Thanks

You need the subways, Tokyo Metro and Toei.

sumimasen..

i think i will get suica when i reach narita.
since i can use it in all the places i am going to visit.

may i know if normal restaurant/fast food in the mall/train station will be able to accept suica as payment?
*
Most ramen shops with vending machines accept Suica, and by saying that most vending machines do. Convenient shops all accept Suica, even some shops like Don Quijote.

Do you think getting a suica/pasmo is better or a unlimited 2 days metro ride in tokyo?
*
Now already replaced with 1-3 days Tokyo Subway Pass.

To me I use both, SUICA not only can used for transportation, you can use on convenience store, certain restaurants, and shopping too.

ohaiyo..

is it that the suica usage will be like our touchngo?

first time going to japan.. very nervous~
*
Yes, it is just like our Touch N Go, an IC Card. Just tap on the IC reader (you won't get it wrong) and walk past the barrier (for trains and subs). For vending machines, you tap first for the machine to check balance, then with whatever balance for what you can buy, those buttons will it up and you just press what you want.

For buying things in convenience stores or other shops, just let the cashier know you wanted to pay by Suica, they will activate the IC reader and ask you to tap on it to pay.

Generally it saves a lot of hassle for preparing coins especially at vending machines and stores. And if you don't plan on bringing it back as souvenir, just return it and get back your deposit (make sure you spend all of your credits so that only deduct whatever is left as processing, and you still get back your 500yen deposit).

For me since I wanted to bring it back (as I will be going again), I make a MY Suica at the machines with names printed on it.
