Hey guys, planning on a 7 days trip from Tokyo to Hiroshima travelling from 22th January 2016 to 29 January 2016.

Can the JR pass travel from Tokyo to Hiroshima (and back)? I googled it and found out that Nozomi and Mizuho lines cannot be used with JR pass, but others can. These two links too show that Hikari and Sakura lines can get from Tokyo to Hiroshima. Just wanna confirm (because the tickets are not cheap... not cheap at all!)

One more question... How do I reserve the places for JR pass trains (Ordinary JR pass)? Is it free?

THANKSSS SIFU.

Alright. We play by ears, I don't know what will happen that time leh. We keep in touch via forum pm. Let's see first see. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(JooSeng @ Jan 27 2015, 12:24 AM)
take the narita express, no need change line
*
I will need to check the timing, not all the time ada.

QUOTE(Zepx @ Jan 27 2015, 07:52 AM)
Narita express costs 1500 yen if you buy it with discount and you don't need to be change train since it stops at shibuya. Youncan just use your 10k yen note at the midori no madoguchu (ticket booth) and it's perfectly normal to use big notes here in Japan...
*
Got discount ah?

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Jan 27 2015, 09:39 AM)
Or just take the Limousine Bus, settled. Buy the Bus + 3 Days Tokyo Sub Combo, save.

QUOTE(sacwoc @ Jan 27 2015, 11:18 AM)
Bus is the best option for me as well. At least you get to sleep in the bus. If you take a train you might arrived too early and shops are still not open.

Alright, I will Google. Thanks and I'm doomed now...

Normally there is not much snow in Tokyo. But since I came here the last few year, there is defenitely one or two days that there will be heavy snow. So be prepare in Feb! And tomorrow is suppose to be the coldest in Tokyo for this winter with snow.

To check if certain routes are covered by the JR pass, go to hyperdia website, choose the routes and see what type of trains service that route. Then you will know if the JR pass covers that route or not. Reserve seats can be done when you are in Japan. Just go to any JR office in the train station and tell them where you want to go and when. Ordinary reserve seats are free.

Thanks! That really helped a lot and clarified my doubts.

Seemed like JR pass is really worth the money. Individual tickets would kill the bank!
