the pricing for 1 or more person?
why are you considering the JR Hokkaido and JR East pass separately?
see if you can arrange such that you can fit the days you plan to use both pass into 7 days and get the JR Rail Pass
should work out to be cheaper

No. Can get even cheaper.
Buy JR hokkaido pass then Tokyo side just need Tokyo Metro Pass + Pasmo or Suica.

From Sapporo to Tokyo taking flight already.

I am planning to take the Tobu Nikko train from Asakusa to Nikko and will be spending a night near Chuzenjiko or Yumoto Onsen area. I was thinking how should I bring my luggage around while doing all the hiking and walking.

My plan was to throw my luggage into locker at train station and pack some essentials in my backpack and go around Nikko and Oku-Nikko area.

Question: Can we do keep luggage in the locker overnight. If yes, where should I keep my luggage? Asakusa or JR Nikko/Tobu Nikko station? Any recommendation?

We can take Tobu Bus from Nikko to Chuzenji/Yumoto with our luggage and keep them at the Ryokan, but the thing is what are we going to do with the luggage after check out and return to Tokyo?
