u mean the red colour strip? do u have to hammer the anchor in? so the anchor must be flush with the wall?

The drill bit and the anchor size is depend on your screw size. Let say you get a 4mm screw. Than the anchor is for 4mm screw. The diameter of the anchor is 6mm. So you get the drill bit 6mm.

You don't need to understand that so detail. Just get the screw you want or show to the hardware store. They will help you with the anchor size and the drill bit.

Don't drill oversize than the anchor. Or bigger size screw if the rack hole permitted.

i did watched youtube but when on actual drilling not as easy..lol. i bought screw and anchor from Giant so the package didn't mentioned any size..my drill doesnt indicate size of the drill bit...so i have to visually compare the drill bit and screw..so i am not sure whether i use drill bit same diameter with anchor or choose slightly bigger one. its black&decker btw.

things get better once you get the hang of it, if your drilled hole is too big for your anchor, just get bigger anchor and hammer it in, if you're not sure, go small, start with 5.5mm bit, try put in the anchor, if it doesn't fit, don't try to force it in, if the anchor get smashed half way in lagi susah

The anchor package don't have the information?

Where you get a drill without the size? Most of the drill bit have the size on the shaft. (Drill lock side)

If those thing don't have any information, don't buy. You not experience to look for such non information parts. Go to hardware shop to get. At least the guy can pick the right part for you.

Give you a tip. If the anchor don't fit of too loose, use a wood. Chip off about the size of that hole. Knock into the hole. Too long, use a minus screw driver knock of sideway the wood. And you can use it as anchor. Much more secure and tight.

You got to see the basin, toilet bow inlet the pipe height to know where the pipe run. It is hard to explain for me.

Take a picture of your bathroom and post here. I try to check it out.

There is a tile drill to buy from ACE.

Or use a normal drill bit (metal). Start without impact. Once it go through (or at least few mm), change the drill bit to wall drill. And switch to impact drill.

The drill size is not the problem. Just choose the size slightly smaller than the screw you wanted to use. The more important thing is to use suitable drill bit. For masonry, brick concrete; 1 type, For wood another type, steel has low and high speed type. The one that many contractor failed to use is the proper drill bit for tile. That is why most of you see chipped and cracked tile. doh.gif

Just place a masking tape to avoid t he tiles crack and the drills slip easily.

Not need to be so tedious like that. Just use small fine nail and use hammer lightly to make small dent. After that just use tile/glass drill bit. It won't run away here and there wink.gif I never cracked any tile smile.gif

Vertical from the tank. Than horizontal to others. But where is where, you got to show me the picture. I have difficult to explain. Same to electrical wiring also.

If you have the tile drill.

I don't have tile drill. So I use another way. If start with impact drilling, it will crack the tile.

Yes, you need to make a mark first by the nail. Before drilling.

I wasn't too correct or clear. Just slightly small if you are screwing on wood frame or wall, but use same size if you screwing on brick wall. Means use the same size for you to put wall plug. Make hole slightly bigger by wiggling the drill a bit wink.gif

For wood, use drill bit about the same size of your screw shaft diameter minus the thread depth. Otherwise, the screw will have no grip wink.gif

No need peak thru the ceiling la. Mostly can see inside your bathroom already.

For electrical, avoid the drilling vertical along the switch.

Got that one really? Wonder how much is the cost. I found a bit design to drill quartz, it shape just like the normal masonry. Price is RM40. Planning to buy that to make drill easier. Currently, I'm drilling for 1/2 hour for 1 tile hole. Wonder if my tile type is harder one.

What size say? Worth it to get the RM 40 drill bit?

multipurpose doesn't cost that much but it cannot be used to drill quartz top, I believe you need diamond coated tip for that one.

Tile doesn't really need 30minutes to drill, just keep dipping the bit into the water to keep it cool while drilling, i'll say I used 5 minutes average per tile hole, I was only using 650w b&d impact drill, my friend used his bosch rotary hammer drill and he drill a tile hole are pretty much under few seconds.

tongue.gif I'm currently using this kind of bosch bit. RM8 per bit. The front metal masonry easy to chipped out, but still can make the job done.

My half drill cannot compare to the experience sifu. I'm still lack of skill and experience doing this.
