I applied and obtained my Maybank 2 Cards on early December 2014.

Recently, the following is charged to my AMEX card:
SERVICE TAX - PRINCIPAL RM50.00

There is no service tax being charged to my MasterCard.

Question:
1. Credit card GST will be abolished in April 2015. Do I have to pay for this RM 50 service tax?

2. If I do have to pay for RM 50 service tax, can I ask the customer service to refund RM 50 to me after April 2015?

Thanks for the advice. notworthy.gif

2. and if i need to register it at atm, what is my pin number?

You have to go to a counter in any Maybank branch, and request for PIN numbers for each of your Maybank 2 Cards. The bank officer will assign temporary PIN numbers for each of your Maybank 2 Cards. Then, put your credit card into Maybank ATM, one card at one time, to change to your preferred PIN numbers.

With the PIN numbers, you can use your credit card in any Maybank ATM, such as to get cash advance from your credit card (not recommended as it is very expensive to get cash advance).

As of now (before 1 March 2015), which one is more worthwhile?

- 12500 TREATS Points to offset Credit Card GST of RM 50, or
- 14500 TREATS Points to be exchanged to RM50 Aeon Shopping voucher

I have around 18000 TREATS Points. Like you all, I need to redeem the points, before Maybank inflates the point redemption.

Thank you very much for your advice. notworthy.gif

You are asking whether it's more worthwhile to buy the same can of Milo for RM2.00 from Shop A or for RM1.50 from Shop B. It's kind of a silly question, because the two products are essentially the same (an RM50 discount). Why would you not choose the one that costs less?

If you're talking about after 1st April though, that's a different thing. RM50 GST is set to be abolished.

Oops, sorry for asking silly question. I quote the online rate of obtaining RM 50 AEON shopping voucher of 14500, instead of on-the-spot redemption rate of 12500 for RM 50 AEON shopping voucher.

RM 50 GST has been charged to my AMEX. Let me rephrase my question:

As of now (before 1 March 2015), which one is more worthwhile?

- 12500 TREATS Points to offset Credit Card GST of RM 50, or
- 12500 TREATS Points to be exchanged to RM50 Aeon Shopping voucher (to be redeemed on-the-spot at Maybankard Centre in KLCC)

I have around 18000 TREATS Points. Like you all, I need to redeem the points, before Maybank inflates the point redemption.

Thank you very much for your advice.

usually they are selling either medical package or travel package. but don't worry, you have all the rights to reject... since the price is not affordable by many. it's 15k and above, but can be done by instalments lol...

So, the hotel accommodation (3 choices of hotel) is free of charge, and without hidden charges or, terms and conditions? RM 800 or RM 1000 is the value of the free hotel accommodation, not the price we have to pay at Palace Vacation Club?

The brochure states that you must come with your spouse. I am single, so can I come instead with my sibling, or one of my parents? Look like I will be disqualified due to this.

It is so hard to believe that we can get free hotel accommodation, without buying anything at Palace Vacation Club. If it is too good to be true, it is usually not.

yaya.... MBB2 card give you 5% CB + 5x TP for weekend transaction.

with the future inflation, total CB will be equal to 5% + 1.25% = 6.25%

Combined it with Petron miles card can get with additional 1.5% CB

so petrol can get 7.75% CB all year long for weekend.

For paying bill online and performing online transations during weekend, M2C Amex (6.25%) is better than PBB VS Card (6%).

I am not sure why some people choose to pay bill online, using PBB VS Card. Is it because they cannot wait till weekend to pay the bills? hmm.gif

one additional advantage of platinum card holder vs gold is that there is 24hr hotline. in which I don't have to press 10 numbers to reach of the operator. so far just have to press 1 time and I'll be speaking to the CS. small advantage but worth pointing out smile.gif

An important fact is that it is toll-free 1-800 number. smile.gif

Aeon (Jusco) needs 14500TP = RM50
*
Redeeming RM50 AEON shopping voucher on-the-spot at Maybank Card Centre requires only 12500TP, similar to other vouchers.

14500TP is the amount, when you use online redemption at Maybank website. It requires more points, as it includes the postal fee to deliver the voucher to your home.

If I am not mistaken, previously in Maybank2U, we cannot use AMEX to pay for Maxis bill.

So, I am not sure whether you all are aware of this finding. Apparently, we can now use AMEX to pay for Maxis bill, inside Maybank2U. I have not tested this feature yet.

Thank you to those who appreciated my post of stating that AMEX can be used to pay for Maxis bill in Maybank2u.com. smile.gif It is my tiny contribution to this thread, which has been very helpful to us who have Maybank 2 Card AMEX.

For those who are unaware:

Maybank is trying to get us to use Maybank 2 Card MasterCard, which is sitting unused in drawer. tongue.gif
