QUOTE(Vervain @ Jan 20 2015, 09:28 AM)
Hi

If we applied our cards before 11 July last year, we only pay rm50 gst annually for life?

I have a bad habit of always paying up my credit card 2-3 days after swiping my card. Normally my monthly statement displays 0. Is there any impact of not displaying a good paymaster record?
*
Hi Vervain, for your 1st question, yes, and you're only liable for any applicable GST on the the next anniversary of your card approval date.

As for your 2nd question, it's indeed a good habit to make full payment on any day as long as it's before the due date to avoid prevailing interest charges and by doing so, it shows that you're a good paymaster in bank's internal record as well as CCRIS. CCRIS will capture payment pattern base on minimum payment, partial payment and full payment reported by financial institutions on each month. smile.gif

Unless the insurance provider is Etiqa, as Maybank's websites do have the autopay bill form for Etiqa. smile.gif

i got my master ikhwan plat just now. Wanted to clarify as below since the receptionist at mbb hq wasn't really helpful in explaining to me:

mbb2 amex = CB on retail purchases
master ikhwan = CB on groceries n petrol

Does this mean that with amex, i can buy anything and get the CB
While mastercard i'm limited to things i buy in the supermarket/hypermarket (and petrol of course) ?

Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan Platinum Card = 5% rebate on petrol and groceries on Friday and Saturday, capped at maximum of RM50.00 per customer per month (Principal Cardmember only)

The above means you will get to enjoy 5% cashback on petrol and groceries transaction only on Friday & Saturday capped at RM50 per customer per months means maximum RM1000 for said transaction per month.

Maybankard 2 Platinum Card Amex = 5% Weekend cash back for any retail transaction capped at RM50 per month per cardmember which translate to maximum RM1000 for said transaction.

any advice?

Plan to sub a card for my friend  (any card recommend?)
... as they said wait first..
*
Just an advice, whether you choose to share your credit limit with the supp card or impose a certain amount of credit limit to the supp card, just make sure that you're fine that the shared credit limit spend by the supp card are within your tolerance in case the supp card choose not to pay for whatever reason. sweat.gif

He may be sub the card to impress his gf or luring the friend to be his gf or that is his really bff.

Honestly, nowadays, there is nothing to show off when it come to Platinum card, moreover a Gold card. sweat.gif

An Infinite card and above card level may do the work provided the benefits of the card are applicable to the cardholder. smile.gif

As benefits are not benefits if it's not being utilise. tongue.gif

Not to mention the AF cannot be waived for such card sweat.gif
*
For Visa Infinite, some bank offer lifetime fee waiver when the customer meet certain criteria, some bank require a certain amount of spending per annum in order to waive off the charges and lots of bank willing to waive off the charges for high AUM customers for retention purpose.

The card that couldn't get waiver will be Amex Platinum charge card, customer need to pay 1st and they will credit 100k or 200k points to their account as loyalty rewards.

And of course we can't miss Centurion Card, upfront fee payment that come with lots of perks, mostly airline and hotel voucher or branded discount. wink.gif

So Infinite or WMC that doesn't require to pay the fee in whichever circumstances are really good card to keep for the benefits of dining discount, tickets purchase, Premium Lounge access, complimentary green fee for golf and so on... icon_rolleyes.gif

I thought bank should not charge us if our anniversary is in april.
*
You're right that if the credit card anniversary date is after 1st of April 2015, the GST RM50 will no longer be applicable. wink.gif

Well, I get card is to get cash backs and spend accordingly by my means.
Not getting cards that I need to spend way by my means doh.gif
Most people fall under this.
Like my auntie still keep her SC silver card for the past 20 years that with the CL of 100k shocking.gif
*
Agree with you that credit card usage suppose to be within our means and the usage shall compliment us in a constructive way such as cash back or reward points in return compare to cash term.

No point to pay more in term of financial charges or all kinds of fee just to carry the card for the so call "Prestige" that doesn't bring much benefits other than showing off which is meaningless if it only function is to dish out the cardholder pocket money rather than benefits them in term of savings. sweat.gif

Can I redeem one 6250 TP + multiple 12500 TP in one transaction at senQ?
*
Yes you can, as according to Maybank website for SenHeng Promotion, full or partial TREATS/ Membership Points (MR) redemption is available but do take note that there will no TREATS/ MR points earning if payment is made with full points redemption. wink.gif

I already redeemed all the points for my Jusco vouchers, so not much left for the full TP redemption. laugh.gif
Still need to top up. laugh.gif
*
Aeon voucher is good considering there is no expiration date compare to other voucher. thumbup.gif

However, I still find those TP is best use to redeem for Enrich Miles and further use the EM during MAS offer of 30% off or 50% to Europe or Australasia by Business Class. tongue.gif

Or economy class conversion rate during promotion period may even beats 250TP = RM1 conversion.

So considering lump sum of TP, the little difference in conversion % do make up a lot of difference in $$ sense. biggrin.gif

I've tried paying like a small amount to test it out. The bill payment was instant and I receive the SMS from Maxis before I even gotten my SMS transaction.  rclxms.gif

Don't need to pay at Maxis centre each time if so  rclxm9.gif

Can I know which Amex card do you select for making payment to Maxis via Maybank website?

I realize that when I select the Amex Platinum credit card, Maxis bill payment option is available, whereby when I select Amex Reserve, the Maxis bill payment is not available for payment. icon_question.gif
