PBB VS not worth to pledge FD liao... I think they upped the requirement to 50k and some stamp duty, like dunno pay how much per 1k CL.

but the benefit of 6% CB on dining and online is tempting though.

yaya.... MBB2 card give you 5% CB + 5x TP for weekend transaction.

with the future inflation, total CB will be equal to 5% + 1.25% = 6.25%

Combined it with Petron miles card can get with additional 1.5% CB

so petrol can get 7.75% CB all year long for weekend.

Can anyone advice on the waive of GST? I heard you need to swipe 3 times on each card to waive it. I got my card is Nov 2014. But they charged me for the GST rm50 each card in february.  sad.gif

This is the TnC of the campaign in question. Swipe both cards 3 times within 60 days of approval and you will get RM100 cash back 4-8 weeks after 60 days is over. Take note that this is technically not a GST waiver, but a cashback that will be credited into your account. Maybank is pretty strict about not doing GST waivers.

Can you elaborate on 1.5% CB using Petron Miles card? The website says it is RM1 = 1 Petron Miles point, followed by 950 points for RM10 of fuel. That is only 1.05% CB. Are my calculations wrong? rclxub.gif

EDIT: Found what you were referring to. Silly me, didn't notice that the cashback was different for the different redemption tiers. Max one is 3000 points = RM45, which is 1.5% CB. Apologies.

to me it's bad planning by maybank. there was absolute no reason for them to give their customers such a short notice to redeem the points in the first place. to add insult to injury they change their decision 2 days prior to deadline. such a chaotic experience to be part of.

Support your stand. I have to rush to change for AEON vouchers. If timeline is longer, I could think to redeem for something else. shakehead.gif

for campaigns that require sms registration, does it matter when/timing we send the sms?

eg:
if we already have swiped the card for the required amount of times, then only register through sms, do they take into account the previous swipes?

ironically, with their latest "strategy", many that failed to redeem earlier will be thankful and actually saying that MBB is considerate... doh.gif

The new change is announced pretty short from the original due date. I believe less than a month!

A lot of my friends/colleagues are not even aware of this new change.

to be honest, the only reason i know about it is because of this forum. without it, i wouldn't know either. by changing the dateline to 1 may, it effectively gives card users another 2 months to plan.

but of course, to the up to date savvy forumers, we 'rugi' in some ways la. lol

i don't think i have "lost" much since i will still spend quite a good amount prior to GST so the change of deadline is welcomed. but the experience of having to rush and not to mention having to plan early to avoid queue (or for some who did not, had to waste time in queue) was certainly not pleasant.

unlike previous change of rate, we were informed 2-3 months earlier. this time, it is as if someone just woke up from his sleep and decide to change the rate overnight.

They might as well postpone it to after treats fair and encourage people to spend all their points at the fair and then do the hike.

check you CTOS (or is it CCRIS?) ie your credit status at Bank Negara lobby free of charge. I had the same problem, and once it is cleared, u shud be able to get local banks CCs.
