I set my SMS alert at RM 201 and so far, no SMS sent for all the petrol swipes since that day.

Called to card centre, they said it is just like debit card when pump petrol. Will hold the money first then refund the remaining after the sales completed.

Previously my credit card only send sms and telling me how much i spent and the location.

It's normal when used to pump petrol, though I'm interested to know why can't they just charge how much we spent directly.

Because the pump won't know how much you going to pump, right ?
We authorize the CC first before pumping.... maybe you can design a new process flow

Actually i apply for platinum,then they give me gold, i check by calling them and tell i dun wan the gold,so i resubmit back all documents.then i received the platinum last week but today i received the gold as well..

your previous cc only send sms telling you how much you spent because you used it at the cashier. if you used it at the pump, you will receive the same sms like your amex card. or if you use your amex at the cashier, you will receive the same sms like your previous card. amex and other cc has no difference when you used it for petrol.

i worry whether you will need to pay gst rm50 x4? lol...

no. only allowed to redeem once per year.

can i combine both point from amex & visa to redeem or need to separate.

eg

amex got 8000pt + visa got 2000pt
