Hey, I want to ask for help. I want to upgrade my GPU.
Here's my specs.

Motherboard: Asus P5G41T-M LX
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.6Ghz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
PSU: Cooler Master 500 Walt. Forget Name sweat.gif sweat.gif

I want to upgrade my GPU but I dont know which one to choose.
My target is to play GTA V.
I'm also planning to OC my processor if speed wasn't fast enough.

Can you guys help me. Need to prepare it before GTA V launches icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Thanks smile.gif

EDIT: my budget is below RM700.

depending on how well GTA will be optimised for PC this time around, that CPU may or may not be sufficient to give a good experience. According to official specs, your proc is only hitting the minimum requirement.

adding just a beefy GPU may not improve on the situation drastically and may be considered a waste.

best is to wait around until after the game launches and technical reviews are out.

ATI R9 270x would be sweet enough for your budget..500w PSU is more than adequate for this GPU..

To make your life easier..Just use this handy PSU calculator. I highly doubt that a midrange GPU need more than 500W PSU http://powersupplycalculator.net/

Even a high-range card doesn't need more than 500w PSU.

Don't know your exact PSU model but my concern is not so much of the quality but the age of it.

It looks old. smile.gif

I don't know what's your existing GPU either but for RM 700 you can get a new RM 150 PSU like FSP Hexa and pair it with a GTX 750 Ti.

The main concern of your setup is that your processor is quite old and may cause you quite some low-fps moments in game.

Overclocking your processor will certainly alleviate some bottleneck that you might have with it running at stock speed. Q6600 can hit 3.0GHz quite easily, though I have not tested it with a G41 board.
