I got my rental code. It's fast but it has a dogshit view range of 310m base so it's useless as a passive scout and somewhat ineffective as an active one because of the lack of VR since nearly everything will spot it before it spots them even with optics/vents/coffee (I believe the max without improved equipment and good crew skills is still under <400m VR) but it should work pretty damn well exploiting its superior speed and mobility to hit weakpoints in the enemy line.



Edit: First few games in it, I've been doing decent spotting just zooming around the map testing it out - spent some time flying over stuff and taking damage/dying You can get max boost from the start by pulling the handbrake while in speed mode which gives you max zoomies and allows you to get some really good early game spotting. It gets a little confusing when you reverse quickly since it goes top speed in either direction. Gun handling is amazing; the gun is so good with its 1s aim time and the autoaim mechanic which allows you to focus on driving while the two clip gun allows you to hit and run targets. Getting your wheels damaged fucks with your speed massively so you'll want to pay attention to that if you end up going up the new line later - also the best counter to these wheeled vehicles. But the pros to it is that you can keep moving unlike tracked vehicles. It's great if there's multiple light tanks per game but if you're the only one then your team is kinda fucked since the other side will have superior spotting unless you're willing to yolo - even then I was constantly lit up by the bush camping enemy light tank that I couldn't see. This is obviously an entirely different play style from other light tanks so I'll need loads more games to get used to it.

You can't slap binocs on it either so you're stuck with <400m view range. But it has great anti-light tank/spg ability with the decent HE shell penetration that can dish out 500 damage every 10s to lightly armored targets. It's just annoying that people expect you to scout when even the heavies on the team have better view range than you do...this is why games where you're the only light tank tend to be fucked since it's better to have anything else but this tank on your team. It's even worse in city maps where you can't use your superior speed. Tested it out some more, 10th and best game so far:



Spawned South so I started speed boosting towards the city before heading North using the trees as cover. Managed to spot their TDs and heavies, tracked the WZ with HE shot and he quickly died along with one other guy on their team for a 2-0 lead. I juked hard enough that none of their shots hit my tank - only lost 1 wheel to a lucky shot by an enemy heavy but I had enough momentum to get into cover while it repaired. I helped the Spaghetto kill their light tank and then when their last TD died I started yoloing for the SPGs on the top corner and ignored the Lowe defending their base, managed to kill both while circling. Went back to city to help finish the remaining heavies. Game would have gone better if I had noticed that my keybind for right click to auto aim somehow managed to change to a random key. Gotta love these bugs. Premium time ran out so I'm using regular APCR/HE rounds instead of HEAT to save credits or I could have gotten more damage. This is definitely a tank that needs a very high skill level/luck to use properly. Most of the time early game yolo = death but if you stay passive and wait for openings to make the most of your health your team is more likely to kill you because "LIGHT TANK Y U NO SPOT?!" So far it has been a very fun tank to play though I probably won't get it since I don't have much use for a French light tank trainer. I need to save my money for balanced Russian tanks.

P.S. - I heard some rumors that they're going to release this on the 25th so get your wallets ready

Better game last night where I did more damage than spotting - Game 16. Didn't try to spot at all, went to flank and pressed 2 for skill against the T 55A and VK but didn't manage to pen the latter Should have gotten more assist damage from the GW and SU-130PM that I ran into by chance but you know lah shitty view range so after I reversed like a madman and they took damage/died to arty I didn't get anything



In speed mode it has a pretty high tolerance for fall damage since you tend to fly if you run into bumps while going max speed but if you make the mistake of swapping to cruise mode while in midair then there are situations where you'd take damage. Also unlike regular tanks, I think you die instantly if you manage to flip, need to test it out more to confirm. Only managed to do it once when I tried going down the same ledge that my SU-130PM handled just fine There's a bunch of people with rental codes so you might run into one of these every now and then. I had a game with 3 Panhards which was pretty interesting since it showcased 3 different play styles (damager, spotter, feeder).

Managed to raise my WR substantially these past few days thanks to MM blessing me with good teams and sticking to my main grinds. Maybe in 2019 I can break past the 50% point Thanks to the sales and event bonuses, I'm finally moving up in tiers. Decided to end the year with a bang so I bought the T-34-85M with my lootbox gold so I can finally retrain medium crews and train more skills quicker. Also upgraded the following tech tree tanks:

T-34-85 -> T-43
KV-85 -> IS
T-34 -> A-43

Going to stop all other grinds and just focus on these. Hopefully I can grind them to Tier 8s before Frontlines come out.

These are the tanks I'm actively playing which is only half of my garage and that's AFTER I deselected most of the ones that I got tired of (American meds/light, Germans meds and heavy, Italian, Czech med and the Swedish TD). So you can see why I'm only at tier 7 max at 3.3k total games due too much split focus I've seen people in tier 9s and 10s with 1k total games. I'm trying to narrow down my focus to 2-3 tanks per session so I can grind them faster and then move on to my other targets. The Russian tanks are the most reliable in the game so it's worth spending the time on them. I do pretty well in the Russian Heavies (all rocking +50% WR) and the mediums are kinda situational but I'm working on crew skills in the T-34-85M atm. The Polish grind is hellish so I'm avoiding that unless it's for the daily exp bonus and the AMX 12t is so good that I don't really want to upgrade. I'm trying to find an active clan that runs the tier 6 battles but no luck so far.



Stats after I started reducing the number of tanks I grind. If I get good MM then I keep grinding, otherwise I quit and play something else before I get too tilted.

Decided to pop a final 11 boxes to complete my Christmas collection set because it's expensive af and I can't afford the shards otherwise. Thanks to Kwik (also I think my card kena with all those other CIMBfags because it was already added to a paypal account that isn't mine, need to get a new card later) being down until 5 am, I couldn't gamble last night and had to set an early alarm clock. Ok lah, not bad. Got some new year luck. Wasn't expecting much but now I can retrain my new KV-85 crew and the IS crew at the same time with Churchill III and Defender. Also grinding up a new crew for the wheeled french lines which will be released with the 1.4 update soon™.

Check your spam folder/promotions tab. So far I've managed to unlock the Stug IV but the other campaigns are kinda hard since I don't have much else in my garage besides Russian and French tanks. Still working on grinding through the IS. Already got top 122mm gun so I'm doing more consistent damage per game compared to the 100mm. I might skip the engine grind since I still need 40k exp to unlock the IS-3 and this is getting pretty tedious and boring playing only one tank. I need to start grinding my medium line soon as well.

Welcome to the game dude! Make sure to do all the tutorials to get all the freebies. If you haven't spent too much time in the game you should use the Invite Code: WOTREDDIT2018 for 7 days of premium time, 500 gold, and a Churchill III premium tank. You'll have to use this on the account creation page under invite code meaning you have to make a new account but it's worth it for the free tier 5 premium tank that you can use to grind early game credits, which makes a HUGE difference for a F2P player. Don't spend any of your free gold just yet. None of the ingame gold options are really worth it and you might mistakenly waste them on early game stuff only to regret them later on. Most of the low tier tanks are worthless and don't teach you anything about the game. You need to get around tier 5 to really start learning how to play and I'd recommend sticking with the Russian lines since they're the most balanced and easiest tanks to get into. A lot of the other countries have bad low tier tanks that will make you hate the game. WoT is a massive grind and you're still a newbie if you're under 10k games

Just play the game casually and you can get decent discounts for premium tanks or even get them free through Frontlines and Marathons. Next Marathon is for the Panhard EBR 75 (FL 10) which is a fucking amazing light tank that excels at skirmishing and getting around the enemy team. It was probably my top tank in terms of fun factor when I had it during the rental period. Might be too late for a new player since it starts tomorrow and you need at least a tier 6 tank to grind for it but there will be more later in the year and Frontlines still has at least 4 premiums up for grabs, 2 of which you can get for free if you no-life it enough.

No. It's only the base exp that affects it.

I like to smash the pedal whenever I can. Rempit til Jannah... Most of the time I prefer light tanks and hate really slow crap like the O-I. I don't mind playing heavy tanks like the IS-3 but the problem is arty. I'm more aggressive than I should and I tend to get smashed unless I camp behind buildings and that's too boring a playstyle for me tbh.

I started playing on NA to see what's up. It's so much nicer over there compared to here. The social scene is actually active and you have more choices in clans even if you're a scrublord. It's way more toxic but less chingchongy if you know what I mean. The general chat was so nice without no-life modzis camping it even at 4 am like over here. At least you can understand it when the idiots shit talk you and people actually speak Murican English. 200+ ping which isn't that bad. Most of my shots seem to hit the target but then again I've only got one tank on there. First win on NA:



Today was a good day, played a lot of really good O-I games, some decent LTG exp grinding and I managed to ace my SU-130PM after nearly 300 games

The ping isn't that bad with the Strv's fast shell velocity and fully aimed siege mode. I rarely miss shots. Not sure if I can handle playing a heavy with that kind of ping but if the AU/NZ guys can do it on HK then I guess you can learn to compensate for it I've been getting bad ping to HK though in the past few days. Sometimes it goes over 100 for no reason instead of the normal low double digits

Mine is 100+ right now. My tank's turret was having a spastic fit sometimes. From the discord, it's not just Malaysians that are having a problem with WoT. You could try pinging their servers:

In low tiers most people still don't know where the fuck to go so they tend to stick around base. It gets better in the mid tiers, around T5-6 since that's where people really start learning the game instead of just dying in seconds with shitty low tier tanks/bad crew but the camping culture still sticks because of the server. Asians players in randoms are so passive.
