Hi all,
I am planning to do some cleaning for Inspiron N411Z laptop since I am replacing the wifi card due to breakdown.
Apart from the fan cleaning, should I replace/reapply thermal paste as well? First time service after 3 years.
If someone has experience with this model, kindly advise.

Thank you.

try to clean the fan and fan outlet, normally there will be stuck with many dust or fiber
if having budget replace thermal paste will be good.

Yeah.. not easy doing all those on an inspiron. Not sure about the particular model mentioned. Good to have do repaste to. If you are not sure just have someone better able to do that. Its worth the expenses incurred.

how much will be the budget for replacing thermal compound? If possible, not so low quality thermal. If do at shop, any recommendation at lowyat?

There is someone advertising doing cleaning and repasting on LYN... search for it.

As for your core temp, they still looks ok. The redline is 75 degrees C. You shud only start worrying when it hovers in the mid to hi 60s

Another thing is, do not fully charge your battery and leave it for 1 year. it is not good. Do not fully discharge it either, as it might become dead if you leave the battery discharge for so long. Instead, charge the battery at about 40 to 50% and you should be able to keep it. That's what i read online.

I'd worry more about absolescence

Actually he was referring to Intel's spec sheet on the processor which states that the max operating temp is indeed 100 °C. That being said, I wouldn't like my processor baking at that temperature for too long either, though 75 °C on a heavy load should be fine according to the aforementioned spec sheet.
