Hi ,

my house was under renovation... plaster ceiling just done.

Now I was thinking what size downlight should I buy?

my condo was 1200 sqft... I plan to install square downlight
9 ft height after plaster ceiling done.

LED downlight 4 inch = RM30

LED downlight 6 inch = RM48

may i know which inch normally you all install for your condo?

Normally I arrange like below,
4inch for small area - small room or toilet
6inch for big area - living hall, dining hall, kitchen and master bedroom

hmmm ... Nice Thanks for suggestion

4 inches for minimalist. Do bear in mind, 4 inches down light means less room in the design. Get those that runs on single bulbs, not double to reduce heat which in turn, burns a bulb faster that it should usually last.

Im using LED one, what mean by less room design

need to consider ceiling height and room size but usually 4" is good enough for a condo of your size

my ceiling height still got 9FT (+abit) after install.... hmmm your also using 4'' for your house?

my personal opinion, for square downlights, if the electrician didn't align it properly, u can see the misalignment quite jarring compared to round downlights.

hmmm....so prefer round? because i ask my friend, she was giving my opinion is because our house is square, so using square is better... that i get the idea from.

Which would have better ventilation if you have 2 bulbs in a down light? The bigger one will, hence reduced chance of burnt bulb.

I hope for that price, the quality is good enough. Most reputable/reliable ones I came across has always been above RM50 .. with 2 years warranty. Maybe prices have fallen further.

mine one RM30 4inch" 1 year warranty only.... hmmm, sometime also depend on luck for warranty stuff.
