Hi all, for those who bought their cases (or pc parts) off taobao, do you buy directly or use an agent? If the latter, recommendations will be super helpful too, thanks!

Hello! New recruit to the SFF MY scene (enlisted during the MCO).

CPU idle temps are around 45C and around 80 at full load. GPU sits at 40C when idle, and tops out at around 80C as well at 100% load. Plan will be to do some undervolting this week to see if temps can be brought down further. [Edited for brevity and forum etiquette]. This post has been edited by pkchair: Jul 1 2020, 05:25 PM |

QUOTE(rihuhs @ Jul 2 2020, 07:46 AM) I have used this case before and the thermals are very good (or at least, in my setup), but maybe that time I was using a locked Core i5-6500 CPU The challenge of working with 7nm architecture! I can reach 35 idle temps by switching off Core Performance Boost (or "turbo") in BIOS, but I think i can survive with sub 40C for now. Forgot to add that the 80C temp is when I stress test the CPU with Prime95 and load all cores at 100%. With games, it's around 60C maybe? My setup back then was: Core i5-6500 Z270i ROG Strix Zotac GTX1070 Mini 2x8GB HyperX Fury RGB 3200MHz Silverstone SX650-G SFX PSU Cooler Master ML240L AIO Cooler Master MF120R fan at the bottom temps was around 34-35 degrees idle, and gaming load (Shadow of Tomb Raider pushes CPU usage to 100%) maxed out at only 50 degrees my room has no air conditioning. just a regular ceiling fan Just fan no aircon either. Are there many Ophion Evo case users in MY? Don't think it's particularly popular here. I am already itching to switch to another case haha. |

QUOTE(rihuhs @ Jul 2 2020, 07:24 PM) I see. After spending weeks going through Shopee and Lazada, this was the only case that really caught my eye. Only when I went deeper into the hole, then I realized there are so many more cases out there. Now I can't stop planning for my next build. |

QUOTE(rihuhs @ Jul 3 2020, 02:53 PM) I can assure you that you're not the only one Hah! I might have to uninstall the Taobao app from my phone, I have only used my current setup since May and already I want to change (1) the case (2) the gpu and (3) my monitor!.that is why I'm prohibiting myself now from browsing through Taobao again. I am planning to use current case a little bit longer than the ones I used previously I might spring for the FormD T1 though, it's just too good. Have you bought cases on Taobao direct? How was your experience? |

QUOTE(rihuhs @ Jul 4 2020, 07:56 AM) well my recent purchase was through a friend who happen to have some items from Taobao in a forwarding service storage, so basically I just add in my case into his inventory lol. I never had ordered anything directly from Taobao Ah Optimum Tech, I am a fan too! We have similar tastes then! My lust for the Ghost S1 and FormD changes from day to day, and its whether I can convince myself if I need an AIO or not (not a fan of the top hat look) although shipping is by sea, it took only 2 weeks to arrive to KL haha yeah, FormD T1 looks great, and to make it worse my fav channel Optimum Tech from Youtube happen to have his personal gaming/editing rig in the T1. almost everytime rewatched his video on the review/build my second all-time fav would be the Ghost S1 The other case on my top 3 list is the Nzxt H1. And then all the other Taobao cases. Argh. You might have missed it, but FormD T1 are having releases every Friday. The first batch was yesterday, and the black version was sold out under 3 minutes! I am waiting for the white one, ETA Q4 2020. But USD250 before shipping..... |

QUOTE(Here to buy @ Jul 7 2020, 01:25 PM) Hello. Ayam considering k66 v2 to replace elite 110 but ayam could not find any review on temp & noise. Could anyone gip quick review or linky to a review. My opinion - No air flow or channel. Aluminium front panel. Too small that it's unable to house any cooling fans, you can only rely on the fans on the CPU cooler and the PSU fan for cooling! Temp will be a problem, and if temp is a problem, noise will be problem too. |

QUOTE(jeopardise @ Jul 10 2020, 01:25 PM) My humble setup. Woo, loving that man-cave vibe from your desk setup. Haven't see Klipsch speakers for a while too, great left-field choice for com speakers!Perfect for my drawing tasks, programming and music. I nearly forgot how my speakers are supposed to sound like - the satellites are always blocked by the surround monitors. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by pkchair: Jul 10 2020, 05:51 PM |

QUOTE(Current Events guy @ Jul 10 2020, 06:59 PM) Added custom loop to the Ghost S1 Mk2 I've seen your posting on Reddit, very nice! I guess your set up doesn't allow for the top hats to fit?Build 'Complete' CPU Side Build 'Complete' GPU Side » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I noticed that one of the tags was bunkbeds. Does this table come along with the bed? I'm thinking of emulating this setup for my kid. Biggest concern is that it's dark under there, dont want to ruin eyes and might be hot and dont want to run AC all the time because electricity bills. |

QUOTE(gxthelord @ Jul 14 2020, 03:36 PM) Any recommended SFF Aircooler for Ryzen 5 3600? What case are you using currently?Had to undervolt and lock the clock at 3.6Ghz @1.10625V and was able to keep it under 80c My temps on stock is Cinebench it shoots up to 91C Gaming sometimes will reach 88C after 2-3 hours non stop gaming. Using a 110W TDP 4 Heatpipe Jonbso Cooler. Don't think the L9i will outperform this with its 2 heatpipe design only. Looking at thermalright AX90 and AX100 but sort of worried of the clearance. :/ |

QUOTE(gxthelord @ Jul 15 2020, 10:11 AM) The K55 side panels are not the greatest for airflow, but still, your temps shouldn't be this high. Did you make sure that your cpu cooler plate is in complete contact with your cpu i.e. no gap, screwed down tight etc.? It happened to me that two of screws were not aligned, and after getting that sorted out, the temps went back to normal. |

QUOTE(hypermax @ Jul 20 2020, 01:08 AM) Thanks for sharing. However from what i have read Formula X1 is the better casing with better finishing and overall quality I have eyeing the Formula X1 for a while as well, then one day the listing disappeared. I found it, and the price has gone up to a whopping RM1.4k (I remember it being around 1k previoulsy?). Even more ex than the Mjolnir. Madness.https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k...._u=t2dmg8j26111 |

QUOTE(kitfoong2752 @ Jul 22 2020, 03:30 PM) i would say yes... im the "early adopters" hence the price i paid is reasonably cheap, yet the quality doesnt feel inexpensive in any ways.. the gaps and fittings are just right.. Ooo nice build you got there! Yeah the Kevcase has been very well reviewed. They also have a white version going for RMB1k, which i think is rather reasonable and am tempted to get. Can you fit a 92mm AIO under the PSU like the makers claimed? Also the formula x1 you mentioned? i dont really think you should pay 1.4k for it imho.. there are a few upcoming cases that implement the same design with much cheaper price that are not available on TB.. You mean there will be S1 clones coming out that aren't China made? Nice! Where are they and how do i get my hands on one? This post has been edited by pkchair: Jul 22 2020, 04:23 PM |
