Might be out of topic, but its still related to ITX. Halp!
[WTA] Anyone use Metalfish 1u psu? Need recommendation on fan replacement, as the stock fan is really loud.
Tried Noctua A4-20, but not as good as stock fan in term of cooling. Any idea?
Need fan 40x40x20mm and 2 pin connector.
Thanks
How many watt is your PSU. The noctua is the best silent solution already.
The only solution is to get a higher watt with higher 80 efficiency so it runs on lower loads and thus staying cool. Not sure about the metalfish, but i had the delta 500w 80 gold 1u and it is quieter than my GTX1070 mini in both load and idle.
The psu is 500W. Dont know whether its true power or not, or what rating it is. Bought it bundled with the case. After some reading, i figured the noctua fan is 1/3 the performance of the stock fan. GG
Looks like it doesnt even have a normal 80plus effeciency. Guess you're putting in some load with your setup that's why it runs a little hot. Well.. the loud fan is quite expected on a flex setup. That's why i changed to a slighly bigger case that supports SFX
How's the finish on the case, is it even? Watched some reviews and seems like the black one suffers from some uneven finish (either some shiny spots or rough spots), a bit like hand painted with a spray can look. But the one Optimum Tech reviewed looks perfect, maybe the botched one is prototype?
the NR200P should be able to find, but according to sources, October will have a restock.
Personally, i feel that it's rather flimsy especially where most taobao ITX case offerings comes in thick aluminum sheets instead of thin steel sheets like this NR200. I didnt own one tho... just had a look at a display. The finish is just like any CM cases.
Thanks for your feedback, I don’t have high expectations of it matching quality like ITX cases many times its price. Mainly looking to maximise cooling with multi-radiators support etc, so the slightly larger size at 18L is still okay for me. Another reason is it’s quite affordable at below rm300, so more budget for other parts and less heartache if I want to mod it.
If I really can’t stand it, I’ll probably go ncase m1 to achieve a similar goal but at higher cost and slightly lesser cooling capability. The nr200p does look kinda neat with the vertical gpu orientation, but not suitable for my use case. Will just wait for restock.
Yeah it is a very versatile case if you gonna leave it on the table. Should fir your expectations well. Im also tempted to get one but i also need my pc to be portable.
The reason why most ITX case comes with thick solid aluminum construction because for the purpose of it being portable. Most people build tiny ITX like Dan A4, Ghost S1 etc because they want to carry it around.. like me .
at rm700+ its very tempting. planning to build an rtx3080 itx, but felt that the nr200 is too big how does this compare to sans warhead?
there is no 3080 that can fit in the ghost S1 except for the founders edition.. even the slimmest evga RTX3080 XC3 will be blocked by a notch on the ghost S1's panel.
And since the founders is a blow through design, the ghost S1's sandwich layout will choke the 2nd fan and you're giving the card a death sentence.
Im personally using the sans warhead. It's a small factory so expect the build quality to be utter crap and most of the screw holes doesnt fit properly... and a very flimsy mobo mount which i epoxy glued brass pieces to enforce the rigidity. All things aside, i'd say this is the hands down the most optimized layout for super small ITX cases.
there are 2 versions the 2 slot version will fit the evga 3080 XC3 no problem...if you use the 3slot version, the ventus 3X and palit 3080 game pro should fit. but because of the low cpu fan clearance with the 3slot model, you will be limited to using the NL9 which is not sufficient for anything higher than a ryzen 3600 unless you can find a way to force fit in a 120mm AIO. (where the tubing will be in the way of the gpu)
Also do note that at the moment there is no safe SFX PSU to run the 3080...Corsair's SF750 will be running close to 80% load so It's not recommended. Im waiting for the coolermaster 850w gold SFX to launch and see the reviews before deciding on the upgrade.
my plan was to get the asus tuf where i will saw off the tuf logo notch and shove the pcie power pin directly into the gpu without the connector housing to solve the clearance issue. Will definitely post pictures of it, meanwhile this is how it looks like currently

I'm also on the same path waiting for 850w psu, then set my upgrade path, quite tempted to say screw it and get the SF750. I've read some rumours the CM unit was available for just a brief moment in certain regions and then taken down quickly and recalled. There's also a GreatWall TF850 platinum, which is basically a slightly downgraded "SF850" or upgraded SF750 depending on how you see it. That too was taken off shelf in China, but "used" or reject stocks can be found in Taobao. From chinese forum user feedback, very bad coil whine and missing some components on the pcb compared to SF750. Not sure when the SF850 will come tho, seeing their oem also face issues.
Leads me to think that a decent 850w SFX psu may only exist in the dreams. Maybe try custom watercooling Since card length wise shouldn’t be an issue, just that you need a matching top hat for the S1 clone too.
But disclaimer first, if 240mm radiator cannot cool the cpu + 3080 effectively, don't quote me on it That 3080 will definitely heat up the cpu too.
the greatwall 850 is a scam.. it’s just a rebranded SF750 with cheaper components.
The cooler master was recalled because the fan curve was too loud and too aggressive users complaining. But when it comes to stress test, it seems to be able to handle 1kw spikes. Should be good if youre not really concerned with noise.
yeah i considered that, but then compatibility becomes a concern, so i would want to go for the genuine product for a wider range of support. but that ramps up the price significantly.
at the moment, im probably looking to just get the ncase, go air + undervolt and just leaving it be. but as everyone is aware, a lot of doubts still lingers regarding the power requirements and the limitations of sfx psu. i think ill just sit it out, who knows if amd could come up with something
I will be the guinea pig as ive ordered the CM 850sfx gold. Since it comes with 10 years warranty i think should be a good product since they’re confident untill give 10 years warranty. Altho i dont really know how to benchmark a psu lol. as long as it doesnt crash then it’s good to me.
My humble sugggestion if you dont want much headaches: NR200... it’s only very very slightly bigger than the Ncase. For me, i just enjoy the challenge of making a powderful PC that fits in a bagpack so im going ahead haha
thats exactly my issue with the nr200, it doesnt really offer me much benefit. might as well keep the atx rig. i do understand that the ncase isnt that portable though
i honestly hope the power spike issues will be ironed out once the product matures, or will be significantly reduced with undervolting
it’s ironed out already with the new driver, sadly at the cost of 5-7% fps loss. Yeah NR200 and that Ncase is kinda at a limbo.. it’s not big but not small either.
I believe the 3080 cards that are out right now wont fit that clone. Most named clones like Aklla and Kevcase are based on the design of the MK2, and I havent seen anyone put a 3080 inside it yet except for the FE.
The EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 BLACK GAMING definitely fits an MK3, and you can buy the case from Taobao. I am not sure if there will be local distributors for EVGA for the 30 series as there was for the 20 series.
The evga is 2.2slots and because of the side panel sliding mount of the ghost clones, it will be in the way. So only a perfectly 2 slot founders can fit.

import tax becomes and issue though theres so many headaches with the rtx3000 series. i guess ill just wait for the 3070 before biting it
besides the thermal on the XC3 is pretty bad. Id recommend just getting a case that supports a 3 slot card. most 3070 AIB will be re-using the coolers for the 3080s and 3090... untill the market saturated and they start releasing budget (reference design) variants.
What's a good case for 5600X and Dual Fan RTX 3070?
I was considering H210 but some people said the case dimension is like matx case
NR200 is the current champion for mainstream SFF case... but if you're feeling adventurous, there's plenty of taobao options or the more boutique ones that will cost a kidney.
Anyone can recommend a budget friendly sff case and can fit a full length gpu… prefer industrial, sleeper type look too rather than tempered glass or whatnot
Is there any alternative to NR200? Really, I like CM and all, been using them stuff for years now, just.. looking for options. Will probably start/migrate another build in SFF, soon as AM5 is available, hopefully. Something affordable as NR200, if possible.
And gpus back to normal
Totally depends on your budget. At nr200 price, your choice is severly limited with maybe tecwares and up to meshlicious which is slightly under 500.
Majority of itx cases are priced at RM600+ Even taobao ones. Unless you get literally tin kosong but those will not support 3slot GPU.
