If you like buildings, the modular series is a good start.  If you prefer real-life buildings at a smaller scale, the architecture series may be suitable, but not much of a build.  There is also the Creator series where currently you can get the Sydney Opera House or Tower Bridge.

For technics and race cars, there is the current Le Mans race car which has been shown to be a favorite among fans.

There are 5 lego certified store (LCS) in Malaysia so far, 4 of which in Klang Valley, which are located in IOI City Mall, Bangsar Shopping Village, Empire Gallery Subang and The Curve. These stores will have all the current sets (while stock last). In addition, you can only find Lego exclusive sets here, just like the latest Ferrari F40 (which you might like).

There are numerous shops selling in shopping malls, like Box of Bricks in Mid Valley and KLCC, Brickboys in Mid Valley, there is one in Tropicana City Mall as well. These store may have some retired sets available but be prepare to pay premium to get it.

Besides that, department store like Parkson and Aeon do sell. Tesco sell last time but recently they seem to stop selling. These options, however, lacking in variety of sets. Furthermore, Toys r us has more varieties but still lack some interesting sets like modular buildings.

Other than that, numerous online seller can be found in ebay and others like mighty utan, bricksplay, brick smart, yesbrick (in lelong.com.my), impulse, etc. Some of these do have their own physical store somewhere like impulse in Sunway, yesbrick & mighty utan in cheras, etc. So do check those out.

Nice to see and join others who likes LEGO. Loved it since young but since it's not a cheap hobby, couldn't really get it.

Anyway, now all grown up and have a little money to burn (those that can hide away from the wife anyway),

can you guys recommend LEGO shops in Klang Valley that has fair (it's not cheap that's for sure) price? Don't ask why, but not a big fan of online store.

big sets are the way to go.. bought this a while ago.. but every time i lift the huge heavy box of lego.. feels so awesome!..
