Im behind schedule as well. some 2014 sets not yet opened. Even the 2014 Creator sports-car-turn-dino also I havent buy (will wait for 10% discount hehe). I'm reserving these sets to be unboxed during "musim kemarau" next week that might last 2 months.

And 2015 stuff not a single set bought.

Congratulations on the baby.

Hope that the baby will not take up too much of your time so that I can still look forward to more of your creations.

Congrats. I also have sets from 2012 (manufacture) that I haven't built.

Plus my Wayne Mano ... I mean Town Hall still stagnant at the Ground Floor.

Having a kid really saps time and energy away, amongst other reasons.

congrats alanyuppie. enjoy parenthood  rclxms.gif

so who's buying the sheep / goat today?  biggrin.gif

Thanks for the wishes guys!!! So the timer has started (ngam ngam 37 weeks last Sat). anytime now!

Currently the living room is kinda berterabur with some parts under the sofa and some of my display from Kidzexpo last year still unpacked and put in one corner.

Felt kinda weird not buying anything from 2015.. so I finally succumbed and poison myself with one single set last Fri after work. thats the set I set my eyes on after seeing the leaked pics last year. RRP at 79.90 but worth every sen:

http://brickset.com/sets/31034-1/Future-Flyer

Again I quickly build the car mode the same night... then the jet mode the next afternoon and kautim the robot mode few hours later.

My score:

car mode:7/10 - decent looking enough. Ball joints are used to pad up the build
jet mode:6 /10 - would've expecting a sleeker design
robot mode: 8/10 - very articulated especially on the arm and hands. Knee joints yay!! Looks like a boy-robot though, must be the gorrila arms + short legs + big head proportion.

pros:
- lots of hinges and balljoints big and small
- best Creator Mech so far from LEGO

cons:
- too many 1x1 round plates to "pad" up the design (no wonder the piece count so generous ... mostly tiny parts)
- not much standard bricks like 1x2 or 1x4 .

Well the reason why I'm rushing to complete the 3 alternates is coz I wanna MOC my own transforming mech from it . So I did.... spending few hours from yesterday to complete it. hehehe...

pics coming soon!

Infernus' jet mode resembled one character from Transformers universe (guess who?). He is named so because of his fiery red color scheme and with spikes and horns all over. He was known to rise from the depths of Cybertron hell, a culmination of millions of sparks who died horribly in the smelting pool.

The jet transforms into robot without taking off parts. And the transformation sequence is incredibly simple indeed!

Even though set 31032 offered tons of balljoints... I've used them all up leaving only one orphaned socket part (there's no balljoint to complement it). If only they offer this one part in this set and I will be able to make an articulated head. Presently Infernus only can look forward and unable to rotate his head. tongue.gif

One of the major highlights in my project is how to make the nosecone halves (forming robot legs) aligned with each other . One of the way is to implement a peg on one half and a peghole on the opposing half. The 1-stud long peg looks ugly but I always favor structural integrity over aesthetics.

^ the aforementioned orphaned balljoint socket ended up at the back of his pelvis.

You will notice he don't have eyes (read: there's no suitable transparent parts from set 31032 to be used for eyes.). I don't think he need proper eyes (or face even!) since he's literally one hell of a character, like grim reaper. smile.gif

Woah... completing this seems like a lifetime. Took me more than 4 months (very busy) of micro-time and keeps redesigning over and over again to ensure all 3 modes looks good.

Well...will post more photos soon when I'm done shooting them. In the meantime..

Alan, you will be displaying your transformer there?
Would like to go see your creation live.
Your optimus it's amazing.. seen it from your blog

Yep. I decided to choose only about 30% of my MOC for this exhibition (easier to transport there) and Optimus Prime is definitely one of my top picks (since everybody recognise this bot)

see you there!
