Not all boutiques are operated by AD ma. And i think Rolex also issues ultimatum to ADs to tutup.

I think you might see one or two in the 'high class' airports, but otherwise the rest will be closed.

All the Rolex boutiques are owned and operated by ADs, the only exception in the one in Geneva.
No difference also if close as to buy from SWG KLIA need to have history with SWG. Might as well arrange to collect in KLCC if buyer is Malaysian living in KL.

I feel it’s a bit unfair that secondary grey market dealers are describing efforts by people to buy watch from ADs as “sucking up to the SAs”, and implying that people buying other brands other than Rolex do not have actual interest in the watches they purchase. If people do not try to get watches from a Rolex AD, what’s the purpose of the AD then? The market might be difficult as supply exceeds demand, but it still has a role which is to facilitate a transaction between Rolex and the consumer.

It’s even more hilarious when dealers try to portray themselves on a high ground when recently a FAKE Rolex letter was created to clearly spook consumers into thinking that a impending shortage is coming to prop up a falling market. Yet, without verifying the authenticity of the document, all secondary dealers have no hesitation in sharing the document on sharing social medial. HOWEVER, where’s the clarification to debunk the article as FAKE when Watchpro was contacted by Rolex to denounce the article as fake?

Let’s be fair in our judgement so that we can share the joy of this hobby.

Rolex newbie here, just want to check, i got an offer from a trader, a brand new Submariner Date 2022, about rm60k, is it worth investing?
*
If you buy a Sub @ 60k, you will lose 20% the moment you walk out the door of the dealer that's offering you the watch.
The market is so weak currently that there are hardly any grey dealer buyers for brand new subs just sold by the AD...

I'll take it from you at 15% more than you paid your AD for the sub. Current dated and full set.  How about that?
*
Haha! The question posted above is should he buy the sub at 60k. Buying from AD is a no brainer, doesn’t matter the situation. But would you say that he’s not going to lose a dime if he buys at 60k today and decides to sell it tomorrow? Today, the price of a new sub is approx 40k. +15% is 46k you are offering to me or whoever that has a new sub.

So will you or any grey dealer be willing to buy the sub that was sold at 60k without letting the buyer incur a loss? And since it’s a loss right from the very second of purchase, is it still “worth investing”? I thought “great investments” were supposed to make money, no?

Doubt any grey dealer will pay more than 46k for a sub from an owner when BNIB sub just sold from AD will only net 15% over MSRP

I was merely responding to your other paragraph when you said " The market is so weak currently that there are hardly any grey dealer buyers for brand new subs just sold by the AD."

I'll take it from you at 15% above MSRP you paid to AD since you say hardly any grey will buy new sub just sold by AD. I'm putting money where my mouth is. Time you do the same.

Where do you want to deal? And since when luxury watches are "investments"?
*
All the hard talk yet trying to SCAM people off their hard earned money, with DUBIOUS CREDENTIALS as NOT AUTHORISED DEALER. Open case back to verify authenticity and then void Rolex warranty. On top of that,
charging 60k for a watch that only cost 40k with possible voided warranty. If that isn’t the worst deal, I don’t know what is.

Secondly, I don’t sell my watches. That’s why my AD trusts me with them and a few more lined up in the coming months.

Why no reply how much you are willing to pay to buy back the watch if someone bought at 60k and wants to sell within a week? smile.gif If you are willing to be upfront on how much one would lose by buying at 60k for a Submariner, I think people would have more respect for grey dealers. Go on! Tell us! HOW MUCH WOULD ONE GET BACK TODAY IF THEY WANT TO SELL A SUB BOUGHT AT 60K? That’s RM60000. All the talk but not answering the question I brought up.
