Sifus,
Am interested in Tudor Black Bay Red but can't help to notice the website mentioning the markers & hands are rose gold. Not sure it is plated or coating. My question, is the rose gold here the real thing (14k or 18k) or just gimmick?

Don't think it is rose gold. Just gilt finished.

Well the website stated it & thats what prompted me to ask here. Google doesn't help much either.

For 14k, you want rose gold meh? laugh.gif

Be reasonable, it's likely a finish rather than the real thing.

If it's the real thing, then 14k is a steal XD
*
Well..thats what I think too. If it is the real thing, Tudor would mention in the press release or webpage it is 14k or 18k. But they didn't. Make me think the "rose gold" here just like those handphone with rose gold finish too.
I tried asking one Tudor SA but he is adamant that the rose gold is real. I'm thinking to ask Tudor official but their website don't have "contact us" or any sort of online contact. Unlike Omega website.

best way to find out... call rolex center... ask them how much is it to replace the dial...the price should be a very good indicator if it's real gold or not.
*
Well..I did gave Rolex Service Center a called yesterday. My query was then transferred to a technical guy. He said it is definately REAL plated gold but could not confirm the carat though. Sigh..I guess the watch is not destined for me.

I also found out via online that the Black Bay Blue version is using white gold markers & hands. So for those of you having the Blue & Red be proud since it's a REAL gold there.
Another interesting fact I found out is that the new Black Bay Steel is using silver markers & hands...however it's retail price is slightly more expansive than the Red & Blue. Seems like Tudor give the gold FOC or mark up the Steel price higher.

I think I saw your post in watchuseek laugh.gif

The Pelagos is also using white gold at the dial?
*
What to do... I really like the red that's why search high & low about it.. bye.gif
On the Pelagos, I`m not sure. I wish Tudor do like Longines whereby they really declare in detail even the hands & markers are off what material. If it is rose gold plate, they will state the carat.

Thanks! Well I'm not a bracelet guy. Sooner or later I'll swap the leather strap with other aftermarket straps or Nato.
