I think you did not understand my question. I was asking IF it is better to buy from shops who have buy-back policy, or it doesn't make much difference?

eg. There are shops who offer that, for eg. for pre-owned watches, Wing Wah offers buy-back at -15%.

would want to clarify, the buy back -15%, is it based on the purchase price of the watch or the market price of the watch? If bubble burst, if lets say the buy back policy is at -15% of purchase price. if market price goes lower, I can sell it back to the shop, and buy another one at low market price?

Hello all. My late father owned a Rolex Datejust 16263. Recently I noticed the crown of the watch was pulled out till level 2, where the second hand stopped, but I am not sure how long it has been pulled out. My father kept it in a small bag inside a Tupperware container. My concern is that since the crown has not been screwed down to keep the watch air tight, is it possible for moisture to go in causing rust in the movement? The bracelets and case are all intact though. I have sent the watch for service, my late father probably didn’t service it for 25+ years, he hardly wears it. I worn the watch for a day and it worked nicely. I am worried about movement getting rust inside since the crown was left pulled out for an unknown period. Can someone share your opinion and experiences?

Service takes 3-4 months. Definitely authentic Rolex. I sent to Menara Dion.

Due to the above concern, I sent the watch for service. The service is still in progress, but whenever I think of the above I get anxious, because I am not a rich person who can afford additional cost to repair a Rolex. The watch belongs to my late father.

Was in Haneda Airport last week. Visited the Rolex boutique,126331 Wimbledon dial were sales at retail. Bought it. Now wondered should i wear it or store it.

but u can send it for a service, if they come back with you on a quote, then you should be fine

You mean I will bring the watch to the rsc and ask to service. Then someone will check it and quote me for the service. How long does this process take？
