In hiding. The poison is strong. I been trying to stay away. Last week commissioned my friend to get a used GMT Master II from his boss. A seldom worn vault piece.

Now no GST, show up and see any lubang or not. Seems like sport pieces sold out at ADs.

since when sports models are available in ADs? laugh.gif

Lol, so many people are getting 114060s, so I don't really see it being a shortage. I also picked another one up last week; retail is RM27,360 without GST. I don't think SST will affect watch prices; they did not before iirc.

anyone hav experience buying rolex during holiday in Euro or US? which country more cheaper? I'm looking for daytona gold 116518LN. how long need to wait for tax refund if buy using CC?
*
Depends on the AD/boutique you are dealing with and which country, other bros here should be able to share their experience
I bought a Tag in Amsterdam and only did a pre-auth of the VAT.
They told me if I do a VAT refund at the airport and mail back the form within a week, they won't charge the VAT. They even affixed a stamp on the envelope, all I had do was drop it into a mail box in the airport

how long u wait until they credited back ur fund? paid with card or cash?
*
the authorization they did was using the manual method, not sure if you are old enough, before EMV chips were popular, merchants use a kind of stamping device... its a hardcopy form where the cardholder needs to sign on
if they don't receive the VAT refund form within a week, they will submit the authorization form so that they can charge the cardholder
so technically, i wasn't charged VAT at all

no way is the Rolex scratch proof
those PM models are so easily scratch

at least the film would have some protection over it
*
with that plastic on, its like wearing the display watches in the watch shops sweat.gif

only the polished center link is a scratch magnet, but a few hairline scratches gives the watch a bit of character, that's what i personally think

scractches reduces the resale value ? i am sure thats important for some people
*
I've never sold a watch but if I want to, i'd service it first, most the hairline scratches would have been polished off already
for deeper scratches which can't be polished off, don't think a protective film would be much help
anyway, that's just my thought, some investors here might think other wise smile.gif
