Do you enunciate the words in your head when you read? I've been told that that slows you down quite a bit.

I speed read. I don't really read individual words, but take in entire chunks at the same time. This doesn't really work for 'comprehensive' reading, but works fine if you're reading fiction and are interested mainly in the story.
