QUOTE(eelynsoon @ Dec 9 2015, 06:09 PM) thought of getting a michelin ps3 but was recommended to get this instead. as according to the guy this model is more or less similar to michelin... and its cheap... any comment? so i tot if d05 is cheaper and yet near to ps3 might as well get smtg cheaper in order to save cost... coz i only tot of changing 2 front tires for ps3.. but my existing tires alrdy 4 yrs old... however still good except that it has harden up alrdy. i seldom drive.. my milage is about 13k km only..? If you have the budget, go for the PS3. It is much better. Have tried D05 for a week, recorded nearly 1500km. Found the compound to be a bit stiff, grip wise just ok. At least I dun feel that grippy when traveling above 140km/h. For the price, nothing much to complain.

QUOTE(eelynsoon @ Feb 28 2016, 01:40 PM) Thanks . Got my ps3 for front. Rear maybe jus change to this 05 later. And now ps4 is out! No wonder the tire shop told me they were clearing stocks for ps3 at cheap price but all sold out so i went to michelin shop to get mine. New tyre should be put at the rear. The better grip tyre, should be at the back too theoretically. PS3 and D05 not in the same league, not sure how would be the outcome if you mix them on your car.

QUOTE(eelynsoon @ Feb 28 2016, 03:42 PM) Well my car is front wheel. If lets say ya... Old tires were to put in front and it burst i will not be able to control anything. Coz my old tires is alrdy 4 yrs old. So i wouldnt want to take d risk doing so. Ermm.. I dont think it will cause any big effect having two different threads though.. Coz many also did tht n i suppose there r not much of a big difference base on surveys from some of my automotive friends. And i don intend to change d rear one too soon as i seldom drive this car. And i think its wiser to budget for d rear ones as they r mainly used for rolling purposes only. Right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oa9hzcjdi5QFront wheel or rear wheel, the best tyre should be at the rear. If the rear tyre burst, your car will swing around but if the front burst, you could possibly control it with the steering wheel. Anyway, most tyre would have maximum 5-year shelf life. If that the case, you shouldn't have bought Ps3 either This post has been edited by allenultra: Feb 28 2016, 04:07 PM

I found that D05 grip is better to me now. Perhaps tyre pressure was a bit too much, at least I dun feel that with Goodyear/Continental before this.
Overall, good buy.

Ditched the Tyre after nearly 40000km since installed a year ago. Really whack the tyre 9 9. Size 205-55-16 Bought it for rm225 per piece a year ago at weng Heng. Their alignment sux.
Initial stage, everything decent. Could do dry high speed at 160km/h highway cruising not much issue but dry grip start to fade by then. Its good enough for the price paid. I am not expecting Ps3 performance anyway.
Wet grip to me, decent. Somehow wet grip start to fade as Tyre wear. When thread left 50%, aqua planning quite obvious. Again, this is budget tyre. I need to have high concentration while driving during rainy day, especially when I cruise on North-South highway.
For the price paid, now there are hankook ventus 2 concept, Achilles atr sport as alternative. Considering trying other brand soon.

QUOTE(leehernandez @ Dec 26 2016, 10:33 AM) dont think the v2 hankook is better than the dunlop.it skids on wet road just like the falken 522. achiles might be better or maxxis ipro for that that price range. I thought the same. Ended with Achilles. Hopefully another bargaining buy.

QUOTE(ezwann @ Dec 26 2016, 03:32 PM) Atr sport 1 or sport 2? Or 2233 Atr sport. At least good experience on my brother e60 and friend's w204. E60 did a lot highway cruising above 200km/h dry, he is happy with it.

QUOTE(leehernandez @ Dec 26 2016, 03:10 PM) although the traction rating for v2 is AA but car skids when apply immediate brake on wet road.initially i though it is good as well. still the v2 indonesia cant compare with the v12.v12 korea is better a lot. Many people question me to take Achilles atr sport over the ventus 2 concept though. Let hope I will not regret the purchase. V12 cost a lot more too.... QUOTE(6UE5T @ Dec 26 2016, 07:59 PM) I think highway cruising even at 200kph in the dry won't tell much about tire performance other than probably noise and comfort level. If in the wet then may tell a bit more about aquaplaning resistance and some wet grip. When tackling bends then that will tell a lot more again. ATR Sport does not have as good grip as other high performance tires, seems more like mid-level performance tires instead but advertised as high performance. You can see the tread wear is also rather high at 400 which normally indicates using rather hard compound which would not give good grip like more well known high performance tires which are around 300 or lower. Dunlop d05 doesn't do too well in high speed cruising in dry. Grip started to fade above 150km/h. Tyre started to become bouncy. Atr sport isn't high performance tyre anyway, unless someone trust the traction AA rating so much. Somehow many E-segment and above vehicles use them a lot due to the cost and frequency of changing. E-segment cars are heavy and not all willing to pay rm600 per tyre and change every 20000km. Many would be willing to settle for cheaper alternative that have decent reputation. Thus far, the better tyre that I tried on my car was Goodyear f1d5. It's really grippy for the price paid. Let hope atr sport do a bit better than d05 on my car.
