Trying these out will surely be one of the most realistic listening experiences you’ll ever encounter in high-fidelity sound. The mammoth soundstage, the immaculate imaging and the incredible detail will surely win you over as well.

I highly recommend you give this system an audition at least once in your life. It’s quite an experience.

After one long evening under the spell of the Stax system, we went off to hear a prototype of Sennheiser’s new HE 1, replacement for the Orpheus headphones, thinking they would have quite a job to sound better. The HE 1s were perhaps softer-sounding, while still achieving the same revelations, but really, the HE 1s are likely to retail around $75,000, and the Stax were delivering similar levels of pleasure. Their open leakage makes them useless in a shared room, of course (unless you plug a second pair into the driver). That aside, if you’re after a top-level headphone (or earspeaker, sorry), then you simply can’t NOT audition Stax. We’d recommend taking a nice long playlist with you. Maybe stay the night.

They have a synergy that makes the combination just magical, and hour upon hour of musical enjoyment are the result. For that alone, they would receive strong recommendation, but that they make this truly graceful, poised sound without the kind of lofty price tags one normally expects with high-grade high-end sound, means they are simply a must-hear.

Z Review - STAX L500 & L700 (End-Game..FINALLY.. )

STAX electrostatic earspeakers are widely used throughout the world by discerning audiophiles, professional musicians, and recording companies to enjoy and monitor sound. This is because of the superb sonic quality of STAX electrostatic earspeakers. In general, better sound quality is available with earspeakers than with loudspeaker systems due to several factors.

The L700 is very musical and enjoyable. One can just sit back and relax, be absorbed by the music. That is the most charming characteristic of the L700: it is wonderfully enjoyable and even addictive. If you are looking for a Stax can which is relatively easy to drive, thoroughly enjoyable with excellent sound density and depth and yet carries the quickness in response of an electrostatic, this is the Stax for you.

cheapest setup is around rm3k for both the earspeakers (headphones) and the energizer (amp). L300 + 252S. but highly recommend for u to source L700 earpads for L300 for better comfort, which is around rm500 imported. then u will get what is arguably the best setup under rm4k in head-fi world.

Stax SR009S and T8000 Review

After many years of wishing, Stax has a flagship system, consisting of the new SR009S earspeakers (as they like to refer to headphones) and the SRM-T8000 amp. I see how they compare to my existing system.
