I must admit Sunway Medical is on the pricey end of the scale but do consider the doctors, staff, admin, facilities and convenience. From my encounters with other hospital, they are just plain messy, disorganized and the admin is a complete and utter disaster that requires you to wait mind boggling hours before you get to see your doctor (or make payment or reach the pharmacy for meds).

Besides, if you go private, you should understand there is a possibility that the bill could go up to RM 20K easy (Example failed normal birth and subsequent C-section).

I think most of us don’t mind shelving out RM 9K for the peace of mind.

Sunway Medical cost me RM 6K+, 4 hours of labour and my wife did not want to use epidural hahaha…

Hi, was that price for normal delivery or c-sec?
I am goin for c-sec this week and the staff told me that it would cost around 11k++ for normal day (X 1.5 for weekend & public holiday).

Wow, price increase a lot... My son born in 2012, normal birth with epidural included baby injection everything was cost us RM5600 in total. We having our 2nd one coming out 2016, I still prefer Dr Wong Yat May and choose sunway medical too. She is very calm and not money face like some other Doctor out there, feel very comfortable with her... But wonder what's the price after 4 yrs...

Hi all, I have done c-sec on 12 dec and for mama it costs at RM9567 whereby baby is RM1850... Delivered at "office hour" so it costs cheaper than weekend or ph.. Admitted for 4D3N... If you wan to save more, you could always take care of your baby by yourself in hospital..

Normal without epidural, n was stay for 2nights. Ya definately depending on timing too. N the check out of hospital better take note otherwise will extra charging u. Means gotta ask doctor to discharge u whenever earlier if u are fine with your wound provided by doctor advice. Otherwise will charge u another day of room service.

Ya definately I understd. I had delivered the first one with much lesser cost plus the service was good. Due to the convenience consideration, i decided to choose Sunway with the price compatible with other privates hosp. Somehow the cost are much higher than the first I delivered in another private even I took epidural. That's why I was shock with the cost.
U also got 6k for delivery in total but mine far more than that. There is my questions in my mind. Inpatient already charge 1k plus. N room already charge 1k too with 2 nights only.

Sunway Medical now have promotion which give you 20% discount exclude doctor fee.
but this is only for personal payment, not insurance.
you may want to call the customer service there to check and confirm.

Gave birth 2 years + ago ... no gst yet. Standard vaginal delivery, normal painkiller by injection, took a single room and stayed for one night after delivery.. total cost 5k+. Doctor services usually not as costly, the equipment used is the killer

Seeing them non-stop renovating and extending their hospital building for the last 10yrs, should already know they continuously upgrade their pricing.

I delivered my son there 10yrs bk (they started extend their building during my 3rd trimester and we gotta bear with the noise). Under Dr. Wong Chin Yuan, emergency c-sect, and stay quad-room 2 nights, already cost me RM8K (10yrs bk!) What more to say now, with bigger building and more facilities.
