The soil need time to release the NH3, and complete nitrogen cycle.

if ur lobster is there.... i think they wont make it.

Does not sounds good sad.gif
If I put my soil in another empty tank n leave it there with frequent water change, would it helps to release those excess nh3?

they call it biofilm, normally develop off drift wood.
yeah, it does not much harm, use a small fish net to remove them once or twice and some water change they will be gone.

Anyone here have mini lobster... bloody savage fler.... bit off my tetra tail and let it die while it is alived.

total casualty is like 10 tetra and 2 rummy nose (suspect so) though some old group of amber tetra seems able to get away from it.

they basically kill anything that is moving slow or provoke them in the tank especially when space is small, but some owner is lucky that theirs is not that aggressive n able to live peacefully with some fast moving fish

once had few of them in same tank when started this hobby..they fight n chew off all legs of the weak 1 n leave it die there until left only 1 in the tank cry.gif

hi all, i m very new to this and have just got myself a Fluval Flex 57L tank.

I have been learning about aquascape and for the tank i will also include some guppies. Is there any place that i can learn more about substrate? I want to ensure the correct compound and are use.

Looking at
- ADA Power Sand Advance (M size bottom layer)
- ADA Power Sand (small size top layer)

Will this combination be ok? Looking at the below kind of setup

probably you can just get ADA soil as substrate and slowly learn tru this additive, fun but yet sometime make you down (especially plant/livestock dying, algae attack)

my experience on starting this hobby is that it is quite normal that people will do rescape very soon for first few tank, if budget is not controlled properly you can easily eat bread for whole after invested in certain equipment/item cry.gif
