CAE really nasty fish and very territory altho i find them funny.... i owned 3 before now left with 1 (age around 2+ years in different tank. Cant put inside my planted tank sure disaster). Eventually when it grow it will love those slime that covered ur fish. I have 1 huge CAE swimming lonely in 3 feet aquarium. Guess u know what happened in that tank  brows.gif

As for me , CAE kinda awesome fish i ever had. Such mystery fish.

*duh forgot to mentioned, cae only targetting slow moving fish or maybe ur fish already sick IMO (poisoning/water condition/fish disease) cae very hardy and can endure water conditions that would be toxic to many other aquarium fish. I never see him hitting on my other fish last time (molly). Even dead fish on bottom my cae wont touch compared to those cae in LFS.
*
but mine are barely 3cm in length only, and i guess that explains why those dead fishes are without their belly

Yes, I have CO2 - injecting at 3bps.

Buceps can be planted either on a rock or into the substrate - but I opted to tied the buce to a rock, and partially bury the rock into the substrate.

Panda Garras are territorial - its nice to look at, but I regret adding this fella coz its always chasing the SAE. Would not recommend Panda Garras, but that's just me.
*
ok then something less to worry about as i planted mine into the substrate.

they kinda look like bumblebee goby tongue.gif

Hey, what Buce is that? Just want to compare notes because not many places are selling buce and its expensive - I bought mine during the Pets Wonderland fair at Mines, but also got some from Penang.

This buce I believe is Brownie Ghost.
*
Bucephalandra Fino Sherry , i got mine, a small stalk not taller than 6cm for Rm30 at shrimpgarden. and also i have both bucephalandra catherinae and bucephalandra catherinae Rm15 each, also not taller than 6cm.

Any recommendations for algaecide that is effective at removing BBA algae? It doesn't need to be shrimp safe, as I will be removing the plants, rock, wood, etc and soak it overnight in a bucket. Then rinse and put back into the tank.

I have Excel too. I heard its effective against BBA for spot treatments. But I don't want to do spot treatments, but just soak it overnight. Anyone knows the dose if you use Excel in a 5 liter bucket?
*
for my case i used azoo's brush algae killer, kinda expensive for a small bottle, though it claims to be safe for fish and shrimp but do remove all fish/shrimps/snails, i lost around almost all my neon tetra and also all my amano shrimps

i followed the instruction that came with in and within 1 week the bba was all gone. and also during that 1 week i did not turn the lights on.

afaik, assasin snails do eat other snails but those bigger size snails i'm not sure.

its hard to breed assassin snails so you no need to worry about them breeding

my assassins dont eat my nerite snails

Its ok. Got it from the NS guy. Better get from him as its a lot cheaper. Tied it on the tree 2 weeks ago and still got extra. So I tied the extras on a rock and they're still in the process of submersing.

About CO2. Since I bumped up the CO2, it totally eradicated all BBA in about 3-4 weeks. But the shrimps are affected - activity, feeding, and breeding, dropped a lot. So I have to set back the CO2 to its original settings. Will probably have small pockets of BBA again. Have to find that sweet spot.
*
mind if i ask who's this NS guy? interested to get some myself

Any advice on how to clean the diatom? They are like coated everywhere, even on the soil. Haha... No live stock at the moment. I think I will stop fert for now and only dose once or twice a week.. see how it goes.
*
hi bro u can try nerite snails, they do a superb job cleaning up diatoms, they are even capable of cleaning those diatoms even on those gaps between rocks
