Those semi-transparent flat piece of acrylic that protects the fluorescent light from being hit with water. Mine got blurred through time. Similar effect from the stains from the water surface. This stain on the acrylic is causing the light intensity to reduce. Wanna know how you guys solve this problem.

QUOTE(mujinkun @ Sep 16 2017, 10:38 AM) I used nursery soil (walstad method) on my 1ft tank before upgrading to 2ftx 1ftx1.5ft tank with below equipment: Bro nursery soil is it the one that is black color? Do you still rmb how you prep them? 1 inch of nursery soil and another inch of river sand? I have a 4ft tank lying unused gonna use for walstad method.2x Up Aqua Pro T series T36 Dophin CF300 Only dosing Micro. Excel dosing. Staurogyne Repens as foregroud Ludwigia as backgroud DW with moss and fern All thrive without heavy algae. My 2ft tank is still combating with hair algae and still fail keep any shrimp. Previous 1ft tank can keep Yamato and RCS peacefully with Tetra. Oh, before using nursery soill, you can also rinse its first. |

Similar with lighting or co2 4, 8 or 12 hours a days, i have been running my filter for max 6 hours a day at 1hr 1hr 1hr 3 hrs.
This filter is running a 2ft planted shrimp tank for half a year with minimal deaths and i had 7 berried shrimps already. Due to electricity costs, it gave me an idea do we really need 24/7 filtration. Guess in my case i dont. |
