My plants seems to grow roots on their stems. Any explanation?

Rotala, mini rotundifolia, ludwigia...

Its quite normal. I noticed mine grows roots from stems when the stem has been horizontal for a while or when its tall and near the surface.

But mine still growing vertical. But some still small already growing roots from the side.

Anything to do with lights?
