I never heard of that but when I googled about CAE, seems like there's some truth in it. When they become adult they prefer live food like bloodworm.  They also may become aggressive.

Driftwood can give same effect. Boil the driftwood for 15 minutes to remove some tannins. The water would be light brown-yellowing color. I think I boiled mine 30 minutes & there is very light brown-yellowing color to the water.

I've never tried worm casting before, so I can't comment but usually there's more than one option to prepare the substrate. Like dirt (organic soil), when I first learned about it, you need to bake it, you need to add clay to it but when I explore further, actually I don't need to do all that. That's what works for them, so they share it. Try google more, see if there's other people that use worm casting without complex step to prepare them. The link to a website that I post before, doesn't say anything about preparing them.

BTW, I bought cheap root tabs like RM15 for 30 (+10 free = 40) root tabs from Shopee. Inside the capsules, it's looks like osmocote.

How do you know light/Co2 enough? Did you ever try increase any of it and see the effect?
Do you using any fert?

I would suspect CO2.

Do you have CO2 drop checker?

In natural, everyday got night and day, so at night, plant will rest. So the light timing shall consistent on-off
We need Co2 injection coz the Aquarium water unable disolve air Co2 to water fast enough, and plant need Co2 to grow.
Thereby Co2 shall be turn on 1-2hr before light and turn off 1hr before light off.

I don't see any problem with continuous CO2 injection even when the lights are off. The only bad thing is wasting CO2 gas. If you worried CO2 fluctuating, that's why it is always recommended to turn on CO2 one to two hours before lights.
