@blizzardcarl92: as long as its not leaking, u can put a pump at the inlet. the water can still pass through the layers of filters inside without any issues.
and yes u can add the skimmer before the pump.
there are a few options for you to do this.

not exactly. its my own opinion through DIY.
U can position the external pump which sucks water from aquarium n pushes it through the external filter with failed motor.
new pump > inlet of filter > water exit to outlet to > tank

Any idea, anyone? try contacting edmund from shrimpoly. he can hep you. he has a facebook for the shop so should be easy  if not you can try aquascape specialty shops like aquascape paradise in shah alam or natural aquatic world in subang ss19. call ahead and ask just to be sure if they have stock to save you the hassle and the trip

Ballast problem? What is that? I just found out it's not the bulb problem. It's the housing.

My water temp is 29 celcius in a non air conditioner room. Isit too high for moss to grow??

My water temp is around 28-30. Christmas moss is growing very well. From 3 small patches to 5 big patches. Riccia fuitan is doing fine too.
