wat do you mean by job performance here? make the boss happy ? or able to complete the job within a short period? Or?

everything!

think from an employer's perspective. what makes a good performer and average performer?

complete the job within the time frame = average performer

complete the job within given time + what u have learnt etc etc = good performer

Maybe you should go into specialization I believe rather than doing general IT?

Be specialized or get certified in sth like CCNA, CCIE, SAP, Peooplesoft, Oracle, Microsoft etc2.

This the way how IT people earn real money.

name and title don't mean anything.
i was once a "Service Architect" for MNC.

TS, just calculate roughly month expenditure and you can roughly estimate you expected salary already. First job is really important, it will determine which industry you're in. Some role IT only applicable in specific industry. Your offer infra on the other hand can almost join any industry.

i am not that experienced myself.
but the best i can give you is
1. Learn as much as you can in your current job, and
2. keep researching new opportunities out there.. and
3. if you found a better opportunity, apply for it...

banking jobs are quite tiring and demanding, even if the salary is not too bad, there are still some things you need to sacrifice (time, quality of living, etc).

if you want an easy life, go for MNC shared services.

It in bank normally included IT security analyst, IT administrator which administrator their system and security prevention.

the salary kinda high can hit 5k however the workflow also high. you need to be alert 24 hours and sometime if something happen to the system, you will be very busy as banking is almost the top priority field among all.

I'm work in a bank, IT Architect position. Usually there are 2 parts of IT, 1 for operational support and the other one more to strategic development where they implement new system, policy, etc for the future. I'm in the second one.

usually there's no IT position in graduate trainee program. used to work for software house before as developer in banking/financial industry as well, so easier to get in since i'm already familiar with business/banking knowledge. for operational support, usually they open for fresh grads or junior position but not strategic development which require some experience first.

better go get a degree because the difference salary for diploma and degree grads is quite big.
