depends on when the surgery is. my girl was walking around, but definitely not "sober", and the shelter vet told me no food for her until the following morning. She was fine after 24 hours, but because of the incision, I kept her shut in my bedroom with low furniture.

I don't want to take any chances. I caged my girls separately. I had to re-arranged the 3-storey cage to one storey cage to prevent them from jumping or climbing in the cage.
I brought home my girls right after surgery, 4.30pm. One of the girls already started to awake while on the way back home but remain hungover even though she seems tried to fight it. The second one started to awake that night & remain hungover for no less than 24 hours. During hungover both can walk but their back legs still weak. I don't know how your cat can already running & jumping the same day,
Seager. Probably depends on the anesthesia use by vet?
It's sixth days now & both my girls doing great.
Well this kind of behaviour is normal. Did you try find people to adopt these stray cats?

Mine came home I put her in the cage, she woke up and was still groggy.
She started climbing around wanted to be let out, so I let her out. She walk2 then fall, walk2 then fall so cute

But when we put her back into the cage she starts climbing and stretching again to be let out. So we just let her out and kept her in her bed in the hall and monitored her. About 4-5 hours after she came home she was back to normal, but we didn't play much with her as we did not want her to run around. The same night, all her eating habits and playing habits were back to normal but we avoided playing with her, instead just pet her and made her rest and sleep next to us. Couple of days later took her back to the vet to undo the stitch.
