QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jun 1 2015, 03:43 PM) PowerGadgetnah bro i tested a 970sli oced seriously jerky as mad for 1440p. My first titan X Overclocked was almost similar fps but smoother. 980ti should be close. vram all under 6gb except CODAQ & SOM. he should change. less power while ure at it. 970 doesnt have enough vram for 1440p. http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti-review/check the min fps for 1440p. Like SOM. that 970 is higher clock based on default as well. well yeah, certain games does hit the 3.5GB GTX970 limit pretty fast

QUOTE(PowerGadget @ Jun 2 2015, 12:04 AM) Thanks guys for your replies appreciate the efforts Frankly speaking,I haven't game with GTX970 sli although bought it for one month + due to quite busy during these few months. Only done some benchmarks with it.. That's why I didn't know about the gaming experience with it.. But since you guys seemed to be having issues with the Sli,I think I might as well sell it off and get a GTX980 ti I wonder how much can I sell it for Leadtek GTX970 Hurricane that less than two months with full set box And for the GTX980 ti. The one under promotion is Zotac Reference and priced @ RM2599,I wonder is it worth to get the pre order or wait for aftermarket? im a reference lover, so my views are biased custom ones usually more worth the money though

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Jun 2 2015, 09:36 AM) Same here. Prefer reference. The quality of nvidia heatsink is way better Only matrix n classified coolers are very good quality The rest .. I think ure paying more for cheaper cooling. Zotac arctic storm got me piqued. It looks like a xspc razer type block with acceloro extreme on it. reference cooler isnt the very best, but its pretty darn good so far and not to mention i dislike the idea of dumping hot air back inside casing rather tempted with GTX980 Ti, but that price... too darn much

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Jun 6 2015, 01:33 PM) Where is this magical place? I used Guru3D settings and drive all over the countrysides on day light in single player. The fps never drop below 40 and i get around 55 fps on average with a stock 290x. The fps is higher at night or online. Did you max out everything in advanced settings? frankly, those benchmark FPSes have to be taken with a pinch of salt some benchmark cant emulate how intense things can be at times :/

QUOTE(kopicat123 @ Jun 7 2015, 04:31 PM) Hi all sifu I got a quick question. I just bought a MSI GTX 970 OC tiger last week and have been trying to run it in full load using Heaven Unigine just to test it's performance and temperature. I realize that every time my GPU go full load, the temperature can spike to 80c. Even with custom profile (manual 100% speed), the lowest it goes is 75c. May I know if I have a faulty product? I have checked some other forums and it seems most GTX 970 owner has lower temperature than mine under full load. P/S: I don't think it's the airflow, I have tried removing the case side panel, or with table fan blowing towards the GPU, all yields similar results. heres a short answer for you its Malaysia, do not compare your temps to those on other forums, as those you dont know are they from colder countries or not frankly, 80C is standard in humid and warm countries, cant expect much. maybe you can try cooling it more by turning on AC while gaming

QUOTE(moron88 @ Jun 9 2015, 09:49 PM) Do you think 600w psu is enough to handle 980ti during gaming? shouldnt be an issue, assuming the PSU in question is a good one GPU alone doesnt run at 100% TDP all the time anyways, a good 600W PSU is fine, unless you have crazily overclocked CPU + >10 HDDs in your system

QUOTE(ChocChristy @ Jun 10 2015, 08:46 AM) Pretty sure the poster is referring to Cyntrix's deal https://www.facebook.com/cyntrixtech/posts/859384417432802 https://www.facebook.com/cyntrixtech/posts/856529524384958Reference design I think. But doesn't look like a blower fan, so probably is Zotac's own cooler design? it is a reference designed blower fan this has been used quite a while ago, they just minimised the cooler size

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 11 2015, 09:42 PM) Actually guys, EVGA is really nothing to boast about. Sure their Kingpin line is great, their Classified line is too. But ever since Kepler, EVGA has been taking the shortcut route to cut cost just like every other manufacturer. Yes yes, it's business not charity, they owe consumers nothing. But the hype about EVGA needs to stop, they're really not as great as they're hyped up to be. aye, used to own one EVGA card back in the days. its nice to have some extras like free games (i got Primal Carnage) during their promo but other than that, its nothing special, it works just like any card in the end frankly, the reason EVGA was well known is due to their customer support which is excellent in NA, but other than that, its just like any other manufacturers EVGA though, make some superb looking and performing cards, no doubt to that

QUOTE(ngkhanmein @ Jun 13 2015, 02:25 PM) problem now is out of budget. able to get a monitor 1440p but then no money get 980Ti. if i get 980Ti for 1080p really not worth. i think bersyukurlah with 970. RM currency diarrhea (lao sai) everywhere. hey, im on 1440p and with a GTX780 seems good so far, you just need to lower the graphical settings (granted i need to throw in 100MHz core and 200MHz mem overclock) even so, some games with older engines runs exceptionally well at 1440p high settings im looking at you SOM

QUOTE(moron88 @ Jun 13 2015, 09:56 PM) when buy last time no budget for i7 or xeon coz at that time everyone say i5 enuf for gaming n so on. T.T for other games is ok with i5. i might upgrade to xeon also if budget allows. but gtx 980 ti is my priority and also SSD. hopefully nvidia prices will go down a little once amd announce their new lineups its still fine, dont worry abt the others comments. your money, your choice, we can only advise. personally, getting an i7 is good, but not necessary yet. a good quad core is still comparable these days. until the gap has widen, its still good enough its not like you run a game and then stream video while encoding video at the same time anyways.

QUOTE(PowerGadget @ Jun 23 2015, 03:09 PM) Hello guys,I'm running Leadtek GTX970 SLi in NZXT S340. When I'm playing games like GTA V,the upper GTX970 would reach 8x degree Celsius meanwhile the bottom one would be around 7x. Even switch on air cond, the temperature would reach the 8x range too.. I felt the the temperature is a little bit too hot. Due to the temp limit in msi afterburner, the card will be throttle to 1076Mhz core clock instead of boost clock of 12xx.. Is it normal?Currently I'm using two NZXT FN V2 case fans in front for intake, one top exhaust and rear exhaust as well.. The case seemed to be a little bit too tight for running dual GPU felt like very stuffy when using scythe mugen 4(upper) two GTX970 (middle) SSD ( Bottom) NZXT's S340 dont exactly have the best cooling perf the front panel are blocking most of the intake of cool air bolded part is normal, thats GPU Boost at work. try tweaking the fan profile

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 24 2015, 02:26 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Okay, did a couple of troubleshooting runs of my own on the Batman Arkham Knight game:
Case #1. All three Titan Xs on SLI, PhysX auto, Config.ini file untouched = game freeze at police officer entering diner. Case #2. Disable SLI, running single Titan X, PhysX auto, Config.ini untouched = smooth 30fps, police officer entering diner. One or two dips below to 24fps. Case #3. Dedicated PhysX to the third Titan X, the other two Titan Xs on 2-way SLI, Config.ini file edited to enable MaxFPS 60fps = game didnt crash at the police officer entering diner, played the smoothest and went as far as capturing Poison Ivy and delivering her to GCPD. Frame rate fluctuated between 31-55fps, with occasional severe fps drop to 12fps during the Batmobile missions.
All three scenarios ran on everything maximum, including turning on all GameWorks settings on, AA off (4K doesn't need AA), and V-Sync OFF (I'm running on G-Sync monitor to smoothen out framerate drops). Case #3 may seem like it has the largest fps fluctuations, but with G-Sync, it compensated. The severe drop to 12fps on Batmobile missions only happened once, probably loading game assets.
Conclusion is I can't ran Tri-SLI on this, only 2-way SLI with dedicated PhysX for the third card. What a mess, Rocksteady!
What I observed also is that when the framerate drops to high 20s (27-29fps) on the game, this game still "feels" smooth, unlike The Witcher 3. Witcher 3 at high 20s feels "jumpy". irregardless on how G-Sync tries to compensate.
The other thing I did is clean install the 353.30 driver. Also the game seems finicky running any form of in-game overlay, be it Steam/Origin, etc. In-game fps counter via Steam automatically froze me at the diner. Nvidia Shadowplay's FPS counter however runs fine. are you running those games on a SSD? does it do anything in terms of reducing stutter or is it solely on the GPU issue? i noticed that if i run Witcher 3 on SSD, i tend to get less pop ins and minute stutters This post has been edited by marfccy: Jun 24 2015, 06:12 AM

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 24 2015, 10:07 AM) Nope. Hard drive. The Witcher 3 case isn't minute stutters per se, the game feels like it's "breathing" or something. Feels that way especially apparent when Geralt is on horseback. Hard to explain by words. QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jun 24 2015, 12:38 PM) I have Witcher 3 on the SSD. But ever since patch 1.04, there has been a lot more texture asset streaming issues. This isn't the normal maps and mipmaps streaming in, but it's the pop-in. Editing the ini to allow for further allowance of these assets to be kept made no difference. As such, often times Geralt's beard will just appear and dissapear in cutscenes. It's damn immersion breaking lol. immersion breaking part for me is whenever i loaded into the map then proceed to sprint or ride the horse towards a place sometimes, the houses didnt even load, causing the building to have an empty spot with NPCs standing at invisible places or even unable to interact with NPCs cause they havent streamed in yet
