Just bought GTX 680 for mere RM550, gotta say this old soldier still strong. Its much better value to buy these old flagship cards rather than buying new GTX 960 because it costs more (even reference one costs RM200 more let alone those custom cards that costs twice as much). People might argue about power consumption but GTX 680 isnt a power guzzler to begin with.

It is cheap, cant find a better offer than that. The card looks brand new too.

Anyway, get the Palit version. It is semi-fanless, but the maximum temperature before the fan starts to spin is quite high, around 70'C.
Not to mention it only uses 2 slots. Plus it is the highest factory overclocked among those 3.

The Gainward version use up to 3 SLOTS (2.5 slots be exact). My friend complained about it. Haha.....so much for the easily removable fan design.

For comparison, Asus GTX970 fan will spin once temperature reaches 67'C.

Important note. You have to know the segmented memory nature of GTX 970, go read the article at anandtech on GTX 970 memory partitioning issue.
Technically, gtx970 is a 3.5gb card because it can't access the remaining 0.5gb at same time when gpu is using 3.5gb. XOR situation. Go read the article it. (use google)

Because of 1MDB. It has RM42bil debt that can default anytime soon. Ringgit is plunging. Once default our ringgit will be 6 per 1usd. That time GTX970 will be RM2200.

Actually, I think Ringgit weakening is partially due to our main export, petroleum. When our petroleum is selling well, the Ringgit wasn't that low. Just hope our government doesnt employ any banking strategy like in other countries... If that happens, u will wish that we never complaint in the first place.

I have read GTX970 issues from LINUSTech Tip before when it first appeared. Just that, I haven't really seen any graphic card which has a good perfromance/value. About Palit's, I noticed it consumed slightly more energy and produce more noise and temperature compared to some other brand's models. Besides, the OC seemed to be higher than other models. I noticed from most of the build by TristanX and Minecrafter, they usually focus on Leadtek GTX970 Hurricane and Gainward GTX970. TristanX did explained that the difference is about the size and OC from what I read. I prefer a cooler, energy saving model since my room is facing the afternoon sun and I dont think I want to sleep in a sauna if I decided to on my com 24/7...

So since the GTX960 4GB cards are just out, do we have them here in Malaysia yet?

I once knew someone who gave his 1gb GDDR5 GPU (can't recall but it was most probably a HD6670) to his brother, in order to buy a GT 630 4gb gddr3 thinking he was upgrading.

So yes some people do equate vram to overall performance of card. You can imagine the laughs I had, poor guy.

Well since the GTX 960 is a 1080p card and first came out with only 2GB, I'd imagine having a 4GB version would be splendid for games with extra textures like Skyrim HD with extra mods. Plus it's based on Maxwell 206 and since it's relatively new, I was thinking future driver updates would improve its performance. Price-wise if it's near to GTX 970 I can see why you'd recommend I take the 970 instead. Still the only reason I'm asking is because I see potential in the 960 being worth the money in the long run due to it's newer architecture.
