I am using Vista Ultimate 64 bit .. running on Gainward 4850 golden sample graphic card.... Having some BSOD recently and I would be glad if someone could help identify what causes it...

Normally it happens when I am trying to change resolution of games.. For eg: changing from fullscreen back to window mode it will go BSOD ... and a few time which I forgotten what I did that trigger the BSOD ...

anyway here is the minidumps -- > http://rapidshare.com/files/162099052/md.rar.html

From what i can observe from your minidump file.
It looks like your ATI driver crash when you are trying to change from fullscreen back to window mode.

Are you using the latest driver?

Bug Check 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.

Ahhh .. so is the driver ... I've just uninstall it and reinstall the latest driver.. will see whether the problem appears...

Thanks for your help nod.gif

Hope someone can help me here. One of the pc in my house had been having BSOD and it happens once in a while and I believe it is because of some driver/hardware issue but I do not know how to diagnose a minidump file. Hope someone here can help me identify what is the problem that is causing the BSOD.

Here is the minidump. I cant attach it here therefore I uploaded to mediafire.

ATI Radeon HD4530. I installed the latest driver around 2 months ago.

So is the graphic card that is causing the problem?
