Can PC random shut-offs (like being switched off) be include here too? I have a problem with my PC randomly turning off randomly. I find it difficult to troubleshoot because it shuts off only at unexpected times. Most troubleshooting tips on the web is about expected computer shut off. Can anyone give me tips on how to deal with this kinda problem? This post has been edited by ky_ler: Oct 11 2009, 10:06 PM

Can you provide more info on the BSOD? For example: QUOTE A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
Technical information:

Does this section include non-BSOD restarts as well? Sry I havent been here for quite awhile~ Anyways, my problem is my laptop restarts randomly and its becoming more and more frequent lately. The laptop is an Acer Aspire, a little more than 3 years old. Been working great until recently. Other than that, the whole thing can suddenly lag, at random times as well. In my opinion, the motherboard is going to be kaput soon. Can anyone here help & give me some advice on this? Thx in advance!
