i hope someone can help me..

my pc got a problem which i dont know what it is until now.
firstly, there was physical memory dumping problem. (forgot the error code). i try to format the pc after that. i was using original window XP SP2 to install the window. but after i format, the pc cant copy several system files. there's error telling that the file cannot be copy. i thought there problem with the CD and i try again after that.
when i try again the second time, i cant even copy the window, there's an error about needing to insert proper CD." please insert valid window CD such window xp, window 2000 bla bla bla" something like that.
even when i try install Ubuntu also have an error.i try to install the window using other HDD, also cannot. btw, i'm using sata HDD and sata DVDRW.
hope someone can help me. thank u.

Ok now i'm a bit confused. You put the cd into your friend's computer (brand new IDE HDD) and tried to install Windows and it failed as well?

If that's the case, there's something wrong with your media, isn't it!

seems to me like there's a critical error with your memory.
Your minidump shows a memory corruption

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

ok.. i have 2 sticks of ram.. i've tested 3 times with Memtest86+... one test for each ram and both rams installed in third test..

first test: 1 stick only - passed 100% without any errors
second test: another stick - passed 100% without any errors
third test: both sticks running in dual channel - passed 100% without errors

for the third test, i ran it for an hour and still no errors reported..
did vista just screws up my RAM? i'm sure there's no problem with any of my memory sticks..

You sure 1 hour of memtest is sufficient?

And i think ur friend's Win Debugger has the wrong symbol path, it's not debugging accurately.

i thought like that too.
but i borrowed my friend IDE DVDRW to install windows but it failed also.
should i use a DVDROM instead of DVDRW?

No, bro. i'm talking about your Media - the OS CD itself! You sure there's nothing wrong with the cd?

Go use another cd to try

alright.. made another test last night.. tested both rams in dual channel, errors start to appear after 3-4 hours..

is there other factors which causes this problem? like mobo or cpu temperature?

you want to isolate which ram is faulty by running memtest on each ram for about 3-4 hours or AT LEAST until 4000% completed.

SOMETIMES (very rarely) , the fault is caused by dirty slots and/or contact with the motherboard.

but usually, when you get errors in memtest, it's best u either go get an RMA for it or change RAM. don't leave it in your OS for too long as faulty RAM can damage your OS/Registry etc due to fault writing from the RAM.

all the best

hi,
my friend has a problem with his MSI 8800GT 512MB..the 1st week he used it without any problem but after that the BSOD came..below is the error msg..

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

we were suspecting driver issues but after trying out the drivers from nvidia and msi the problem still persist..this is his pc specs..he's using win xp..

Q6600 2.40GHz
Team Elite 4GB kit DDR2-800
Abit Quad GT IX38
Seagate 250GB 16MB SATA HDD
Gigabyte superb 550W PSU

he has tried swapping the 8800GT with another graphics card and his pc runs without a hitch..but i tried using the 8800GT with my server pc and it runs fine in win xp and vista..but with my htpc it had some problems in vista..it restarts randomly..driver issues rite?

yeah definitely a driver issue. i suggest you google and see what other users have done to resolve this issue. it's a non BSOD issue

very GPU-specific, this problem
