Im having this issue; PC sometimes auto shut down itself via BSOD or terus shut down. Then the process of turn on, shut down 2 seconds later and it repeats until I decides to shut down the PC completely.
I also just clean the interior and swap the RAM slot, I notice a significant delay on the usage even on the videos. Any ways to fix it? |

QUOTE(cactuscch2 @ Apr 29 2017, 08:48 AM) My 4.5 years old laptop BSOD randomly (mostly when playing video, streaming youtube & browsing on Chrome/Firefox) and I suspected driver problem of ATI Radeon HD7670M or the GC is dying. The minidump show the driver causing BSOD is atikmpag.sys THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME IN MY TOSHIBA LAPTOP.Things i did:- 1) Format the entire HDD and factory reset - result: BSOD every 2-3 hours 2) Set maximum processor state to 75% on battery & plugged in - result: BSOD less, 1-3 times in 24 hours 3) Install HWMonitor - result: CPU i7-3612QM 55-65C idle, GC 50-55C idle 4) Boot into safemode to run [DisplayDriverUninstaller (Safemode) v16.0.0.2], then re-install the latest version of driver downloaded from ATI [amd-catalyst-15.7.1-without-dotnet45-win7-64bit] - result: still BSOD 1-2 times in 24 hours 5) Repeat step 4) but this time go into cmd and EXPAND.EXE atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys. (follow method 2 from http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-165...d-startup.html) - slight modification as I type atikmpag.sy_ (not atikmdag.sy_) - result: still BSOD 1-2 times in 24 hour 6) Want to switch to built-in Intel GC but unfortunately there is no Intel GC, as Device Manager only show "AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series" I'm going crazy, any sifu?? I WAS TRYING TO BE A SMART ASS, AND WANTED TO UPDATE ALL THE DRIVERS TO LATEST BUILDS INCLUDING BIOS. HOWEVER, THE BSOD WAS BECAUSE OF UPDATING THE GRAPHICS DRIVER. UNFORTUNATELY, 7670M DON'T HAVE ANY LATEST BUILD, THE CATALYST CONTROL SAYS IT SUPPORTS 7600M SERIES, BUT ITS NOT REALLY GOOD FOR 7670M. I ROLLBACK THE DRIVER TO THE OLD ONE. THEN THE BSOD WAS GONE. |

Finally bought a basic HP laptop in Feb 2018. Just leave my Toshiba unused. Appreciate it if rojan89 can upload the good driver and let me try. |

If no errors were found in memory or with the hard disk, you need to ensure that your processor is not overheating. Make sure the fan on the heatsink is in working order and reboot the computer, pressing DEL repeatedly on startup to go into the BIOS setup screen.
You could watch an IOS movie file on the computer as long as you install a virtual drive. But if you wish to share the movies with your friend and families, it is better to burn ISO to DVD and then play them on TV. This post has been edited by rascalm: Jul 26 2018, 01:53 PM |

After a while I decided to try to reset/clear cmos (unplugged PSU cable, put screwdriver on the 2 pins for 15 seconds+, plugged back PSU) and it turn on. unfortunately when it turn on it always ask to go to f1. Is there any solution for this?

As you have hard reset the BIOS/UEFI, the date & time will usually run out, set it back, save it & reboot. It should have fix the issues. |

Also did you refresh the thermal paste for the CPU ? And is the CPU fan's clean ? Another thing to note is the PSU, this is commonly ignore by most ppl, clean it too. |

It’s so annoying to see the computer keeps rebooting, as you can do anything else to troubleshoot, so you should first disable the Automatically restart feature to stop restarting.
1) Boot your computer into Safe Mode. 2) After entering the Safe Mode, press the Windows logo keyand R at the same time on your keyboard. 3) Tyep sysdm.cpl and click OK. 4) Click the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section. 5) Uncheck Automatically restart. You may also want to check Write an event to the system log if it’s not selected yet. This will help record the problem when it happens. 6) Click OK to save. alrite just to share with u guys here. i recently assemble whole new pc myself with the help of pc shop... from monitor, pc till keyboard and mouse. so once done, i bring my pc home.... test it with benchmark app... seems fine. no issue.
since i bought a new GPU so i run some game to see if any issue or not. true enuv, it went bsod... or crashing like after 10-20 minutes... initially i thought is overheat.. either way i install my new fan. it doesn't solve the issue end up i bring my pc to the shop and ask them test it. they ran more extensive benchmark app through day and nite but didn't catch the issue.... then i ask them run the game and they manage to finish it some more.... so they said flashed my bios so it should be fine. i brought it back and test it. same issue and i download low end game also got bsod. end up i bring it back again.... they willing to swap my gpu n psu since its bsod with event 41. they said usually is psu issue or gpu because i got bsod during gameplay.... it doesn't end there.. cause after change i still face with crashes.... with ntdll.dll or event 41.... after some googling... i reinstall window 10 and retry...same issue... and some suggested to test memory....so i ran a memtest and found whole bunch or errors....... went back swap memory card and tada...all error gone..... so just in case anyone face similar issue, probably do a memtest |

QUOTE(mmusang @ Jan 13 2020, 03:58 PM) new PC usually driver issue.. confirmed not driver issue... first thing after setup the hardware sure is install driver and get it updated. however memory issue will not lie with those simple memtest...the problem is which driver. go to the manufacturer website and check what necessary driver for your motherboard first. |

You can try this steps for eliminate BSOD error
1. System restore 2. Install update 3. Install updated driver 4. Check for hard disk error 5. Check for memory issues |
