Yes, I believe so. There is a double effect here - the RM is weakening against all currencies, and the GBP is slowly gaoning ground.

Whatever the global market share of Fitch, let's see how much wil the RM depreciates (or stays or appreciates ?) after the ratings report.

ON a personal basis,... I vote tht there wil be depreciation, but not much, because this is now called the after-effct.

That's why I said - 'not much, because this is nw calld the after-effect'. I have taken into consideration tht the mkt has already priced-in or factored-in the downgrade by now, since Mr Mkt is fwd-looking.

BUT - be careful. If,.. due to whtever reasons, there is NO downgrade, or even, though imposible, an upgrade occurs, then the mkt will uddenly swing in the opposite direction.

I am born in Msia, everhwher I go, people see my Msian passport, no choice... so I am proud tht my gverner is flexing her muscles. Hoped her words are strong enuff, but nexon here has already mentioned tht the RM has rebounded from a 10-yr low, right ?

That's right - same opinion here, those up there can talk all the BS's abt now, and the future being better, etc, etc,... but one thing I can tell is we are suffering NOW. AND THIS IS NOT GOOD. How long more do we hav to suffer ? How long more to wait for better times to come along ?

Look at yr RMB, now that you hav sold it, yes, you have made profit,... but you have no more RMB to make another round of profit. Unless you take another risk by buying-up RMB again when the RM strengthns against the RMB. Same goes for yr SGD.

Bro,...I just thought of something,..I would like to give you an idea,.. you can choose to listen or not, up to you,..

... don't go selling-off your SGD (unles you really needed the money, but I don't think you do). Go buy some invstments in Sgp that will continue to earn you SGD, while keeping yr value in the investments. Buy within these few months as the Feds are scaring the world abt rate hikes. Keep monitoring the news., find the best time to enter every now and then. Best is if the investments can give you a qyarterly or monthly dividend, then you get your money earlier to re-invest in.

Few K's of SGD ALSO CAN. Don't need a few millions-lar, okay ? At least you start-lar,...
