lol.. kinda in dilemma still.. any camera suggested here attracts you? smile.gif zzzxtreme highly recommended Olympus XZ2. but i found out that it doesnt have wifi instead u need to buy separate wifi card. dont know how much it cost. Samsung NX300 attracts me from the outlook and many giving good comments on blogs. just afraid the battery wont last whole day outing. and not sure does this product still continue on market or its clearing old stock. Going to shop find out this weekend.

cheers..

Unless you go for dslr, most mirrorless without external battery wont go >400 shots. Just grab extra batt, solved. If you know where to look, you can get nx300m for rm1800 or less.

If you are not into too serious photography or lens hog, samsung nx will do the job just fine unless you are looking into serious telephoto lens (>200mm). One of the nicest touchscreen, wifi and user interface ever. Their prime lens selection is adequate enough. Or wait till nx400/500 with evf comes out supposedly this year.

Or better well known mirrorless will be sony a6000 (camera of the year 2014) which has better feature and evf than nx300 but they say the kit lense bundled is crap compare to nx kit 16-50 pz so may need additional investment on the lense. However will recommend this for sport shooters or soccer mom for its autofocus speed and burst rate.

Olympus E-PL series is also nice if you want small cameras and tons of lense options. Only thing to consider is the m4/3 size sensor being smaller than sony and samsung apsc. Also if not mistaken before E-PL7, the older models has less tech feature (no focus peaking, confusing user interface) and low LCD resolution making manual focus a headache. So get the latest E-PL7 with 1mil dot LCD touchscreen if possible.

If not into lens collection, would suggest just getting sony RX100.

okay. let me give you the exact requirements.

I had a powershot sx30 before, addicted to long range zoom after that, but had to sacrifice on aperture while using it in low light. Was taking some shots in lampu 2014 and it fell along with the tripod it was on and the motor shattered. So planning to upgrade now. My friend suggested me to go for a better bridge camera. I am planning for a mirrorless/dslr. so long range zoom lens and better lowlight are my requirements.

M4/3 olympus or panasonic is preferable then cause of the 2x crop factor on focal length. Not familiar with the tele lens selection though but if want higher aperture be prepare to shell out more.

How's that even possible?  shocking.gif

Possible. Sony dsc-hx400V has 1/2.3" Sensor meaning crop factor of 5.2 (correct me if im wrong). It is 24-1200mm equivalent if the camera has 35mm size sensor. So actual focal length of the lens is 4.6-230mm roughly. Also the aperture is f2.8 wide and f6.3 at tele end. Disclaimer: This is rough calculation based what I know and gather so may not be entirely accurate.

If not mistaken (and if promotion still there) 2000+ from sony store gets you two lens kit, one standard and one tele lens. Otherwise should be around RM1700 for one standard.
