Added on March 28, 2007, 11:14 amNokia doesnt have their own micro sd cards.. world wide the down have non nokia items in their boxes. The do bundle with people like kodak , adobe on international level.. but sd cards taht ur so used to in malaysia is only a regional or malaysia level thingy.

Guess they used up their budget on the map tie up so.. no more money to buy u the extra sd card. The map cost around rm250 plus for retail.. for bulk.. i guess they would have paid less than rm100.. the price of a 1GD sd card.

i guess the guys at aegis know the have a great product.. they letting u try.. and u will be hoooked... hehehheh. its really cool.. but like anything satelite... sumtimes u will not get service.. so they will prolly need to work with network operators and use it in conjunction with cell broadcast.

err.. like i say.. its going to be avail.. first week Apr.. so i dun have one in my possession. its really worth the money.. but guess i wun be one of those lucky ones to buy this phone.

the n95 uses chipset that can transmit data at 3.6Mbps.. it can be upgraded to 7.2 Mbps with a firmware upgrade.. but i dun really knoe if nokia will provide this at later date.. and the more pressing question is.. whether any telco will be able to support those speeds on HSDPA. THey may just jump to HSUPA, anad i really dunno if this will be compatible to HSDPA devices.

WHat u guys need to do is.. call up the NOkia shops and leave ur name n contact. Whn the N95 reach.. they will call u!

I think it depend on whether u fully use all the features or not..

with HSDPA speed u can save on buying a stand alone modem taht will set u back at least RM 1k. GPS.. if u always fly.. really useful.. just d/l maps and they can help u locate nearest rest, atm machines , doctors etc.. a real life saver.

and if u dun have a digicam.. might as well use taht money n jump onto the N95 bandwagon.

errr.. thats not what i understand worr.. the aegis maps bundled can show u routes.. it can show u two diff routes.. 1) fastest route ie using higway etc.. 2) shortest route ie using shortest distance .. but not necessarily fastest due to jams etc.

and when u take a different route.. it will immediately recalculate.. u dont have to reprograme and ask for route.

There a 3 things involved when using this service.. 2 is chargeable.
1) GPS.. its free.. cause u just receive satelite signal and triangulate ur position.. astro is payable cause it got cotents inside the signal.

2) Maps.. teh first download is foc.. u have a choice of Sg or malaysia. but lets say ur map is not curent or the item ur looking is not on the original map.. u can use ur phone to D/L the maps instantly.. this u pay map and of course the data plan u need to pay telco...

the chargeable item for maps is the premium service where u get voice navigation.. meaning.. not only u see the srorws.. but phone will shout out the instructions.

if not mistaken.. there are differnet types of view too.. u can get the simple one.. where u dunno where ur.. it just show arrows and distance of the change in direction .. the other will let u see roads / buidings etc

the only bad thing about gps.. cant work indoors... hahahha

oh.. i foregt to mention the worst thing th en95 can suppot.. its a good thing.. if u get lost in foregin country.. u can get a location fix and sms to a friend...

true.. dats why they have a service which works in conjunction with telco's cell location.. dat will make living with the start up time much more bearable..

i think it takes between 5 ot 10 mins to get it working.. adn if u have gps on.. ur battery will prolly die.. less than 1 hr.

i believe avaxx shud be getting their stocks by tomorrow or wednesday. go to the Nokia shops.. i mean the nokia dealers.. there are limited stocks.. so most prolly.. they will sell higher than the rrm3199 price.. supply n demand ma..

its a 3rd party software. just buy and load into pc.. then download maps.. then load into N95. when u go to other countries.. just DL for other countries lo.. but actually horr.. like states.. u can just DL one state.. cause file is kinda big.

should be out by today in KL.. and other states tomorrow. but due to ltd stocks.. they may just ask u to pay more!!!

true.. but u forget.. they will price phone with better demand at higher cost so taht they can get rid of phone taht is harder to sell at lower than actual cost. in this case.. i believe the N95 will be the hot selling phone and thus be allocated the higher cost. ... thats why they may just sell to u at more than the RRP..

alamak.. just cut ur streayx and apply for unlimited data with telco.. pay one party n get access anywhere.. get to use ur N95 to full potential
