Recently i went on the tgv cinema website to buy tickets online and to my dismay, it seems that only movieclub members can buy tickets online! Every movie i click to buy online tickets, it says that i need to sign in, and since i dint have an account with them, i went to 'sign up' but then i found out that this movie club membershio costs 28 per year, its not that i cant afford it but why should i have to pay for this basic service?? For all these years they have been allowing peoole to buy online tickets at tgv without signing uo for a paid membership.. and i've been buying , no issue, just fill in my email address everytime.. but now, they wont extend this service to the general public?? Wtf! Please tell me i'm mistaken, and that there's a way to buy tickets if you're not a member, or if there is a basic free membership. Gsc cinema and Mbo provides free membership (just a basic account , which enables online ticketing) .. i dont wanna queue for 1 hr just to find out that there's only the bad seats left for the movie i wanna watch, online tix were so convenient! Now they wanna make us pay for saving THEM labour/overhead costs by doing transactions online...

Side note: TGV Cinemas' MovieClub offers various benefits and not just the "basic service" you're talking about, though.

Hi, just to let you know that MovieClub is not that bad if you go for Movies @ TGV frequently.

Not to mention all, just two of the benefits.
1)Available Upon Activation
2 free movie tickets (The movie tickets will be valid for all movies including blockbuster movies and for all seating at standard halls only) and 1 regular set (1 regular popcorn and 1 regular soft drink)
*within 180days from registration(if not mistaken)

2)Birthday's Special
On Member's Birthday month, Members are given 2 free movie tickets (The movie tickets will be valid for all movies including blockbuster movies and for all seating at standard halls only) and 1 regular set (1 regular popcorn and 1 regular soft drink)

[copied from TGv's site)

They do have a system called MovieMoney(spend-and-earn) for you to exchange tixs, f&bs and etc

Count and see is it worth it smile.gif

Maybe you're too used to GSC's website. TGV's website is indeed a bit different.

well, someone gotta tell TGV to revamp their online ticketing website. right after you select your select you come to a page where you need to select "Preferred" or "Preferred Kid". you have to select number of seat again.

not very intuative and the site arrangement is very confusing.

for the record, i also tot i need to join movieclub. decide to book from GSC. after flipping around on TGV site then i notice how the site work.

Movie Club members also need to pay the online service charge.

The only advantage (besides the freebies mentioned earlier) is that we get to buy tickets

a) in way advance (Eg. We can buy tickets up to 2 weeks in advance sometimes, depending on the movie)
b) we get to buy tickets for certain movies at RM 10

If you are trying to buy advance tickets for a movie that hasn't been released yet, then I think you may need to be member on the website (GSC does not have this restriction). But if you are buying tickets for a movie that has already been released, you shouldn't need to be a member.
