i dont really know.. 3k-5k perhaps? 3k rig can do rendering if using geforce that isĀ  ?
*
from my exp, if u r tight on budget,
that gtx750 will do, no need that quadro. (or just pick from higher end consumer graphic family)
low-end quadro will not benefit u much, consumer card will gve u better.

if for rendering priorities are like so cpu>gpu>ram

min for rendering rig

Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz RM869
Asrock H97M-Pro4 RM299
Palit GTX750 RM460
Kingston Value RAM 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RM239
WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM184
FSP Hexa 550w+ rm169
Thermaltake Versa H25 RM129

if your budget allow, straight go for i7-4790k build

Hmm it's just abit over my budget. Would the build still work if I use like an i5-4460 instead?

Also, may I ask how to calculate wattage? I'm just wondering if 520W is enough for occasional multitasking (opening game and browser at the same time etc), and if I should get a higher wattage PSU for future proofing.

Thank you very much for your help smile.gif

it will do, but sure does it worth spending more on that xeon,
new gen gaming always hunger for powerfull cpu tho

you can swap that psu with xigmatek tauro 600w rm209 (viewnet)
even it is not realiable as much as seasonic, it will do the job,
powering my other rig with overclocked i7-4770k and gtx760

QUOTE(loobighead @ Mar 16 2015, 11:13 AM)
Hei guys, I am planning to get a rig for gaming (PES, NBA 2K, GTA, Far Cry and etc) and entertainment that can last me a 3-5 years. Budget around 6k for CPU and monitor.

1. Not planning to go 4K or SLI but I hope can get a overclockable intel CPU.
2. Preferable nvidia graphic card and mobo from the same company.
3. Planning to get VX2770SML for my monitor, feel free to give any recommendation for 27" monitor with high cp. IPS or MVA more suitable for gaming?
4. For HDD, preferable western digital (what is the differences between green and blue actually?) but no preference for SSD.
5. Casing I prefer cooler master but if there is a similar casing with high CP I am fine with that as well.

Sorry for having so many requirements and thanks for your help in advance!

Hi, I need some advices here. Here are part of the components I am going to buy :
CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4 2666MHz
MOBO: Gigabyte X99 mATX LGA 2011-3 GA-X99M-Gaming 5
PSU: Corsair AX760i
Samsung 850 EVO 250gb X2 (planned to run raid 0)
Corsair H100i
And now I cant decide on the chassis, the gpu.
For chassis, I think I am going for a Prodigy M but I am not sure about whether my this build suites this chassis or not. Need some advice here.

While for GPU I am not a hardcore gamer just playing some medium graphic game so I think I am going for some mid range graphic card with price <RM800.

And lastly I need some suggestion for monitor, preferably with HDMI connection, less than 27 inches, with price <RM600. Thanks.
*
The prodigy m shud not be a prob since the mobo is matx
http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=49813

Looks like u going for rendering rig, so nvidia benefit u better
Leadtek GTX960 ref. RM749
But if u want for gaming;
Sapphire R9 280 dualX OC RM759

Dell 23" S2340L RM599

Hmm, actually they provide the option to upsize the SSD with topup?

Definitely fit my need (if I didn't had my GTX970 and Transcend 370 in hands...). sweat.gif

So effectively, it is RM140 for extra 128GB, pretty good deal.

BTW, always prepare some over provisioning space for it.

well, i just trying my luck on asking,
from few shops i've asked, oni one provide this option

Getting a 1TB Hard drive before GST , Why mostly recommend WD Blue over Seagate Barracuda ?
Using it for OS since my Hitachi 500GB is in Caution mode for bad sectors.
*
i've googled some forums,
user exp on both WD and Seagate state, that there are not much diffrent on both, just pick whichever is cheaper.
some of them state that seagate write speed is faster on based on the official website.

imo, would make no dffrent on choosing.

dun want to try SSHD???
